McCabe out the next 4 to 6 weeks, Mitchell out, C. Jones might be out, Murphy hasn’t practiced in a week wonky back, Beaudin might be on the opening night roster by default. - LAHawk
So you're saying I should order my Bedard jersey now? |

Wait until the first period of opening night in Colorado.
This team could make last year’s start look good. - Ztra

Dobber: Top Western Conference Rookies. https://dobberhockey.com/...stern-conference-rookies/
As I've learned each of the prior three years in doing a top rookie list, there is always a player or two that comes out of seemingly nowhere. A few candidates for that are Spencer Martin, Connor Ingram, Cole Guttman, Juuso Parssinen and Danil Gushchin. |

One of the better bets over the years is betting against the team hoisting the Cup banner. There is an exception to everything.

Guttman will play more NHL games this season than Reichel. - DarthKane
Barring a surprise, it sounds like they want to start Reichel in RFD and make sure when he eventually does come up, he's here to stay.

Maybe they just want to protect him from the poop show this season projects to be.

Zach,
Would it be possible for you to cover the Ice Hogs, the Hawk prospects in juniors, college, and playing overseas instead of the Hawks. Oh sure now and then you can mention how Toews and Kane are doing and any injuries or transactions affecting the Blackhawks NHL team. But other than that it will be sickening to hear reports on the Chicago NHL club on a daily basis.
Thanks.

Here is a website dedicated solely to prospects.

I think this is Mr. Riccochet go to in tracking prospects, both drafted and those eligible for the next draft.
Here is the Hawks prospects page

This fascinates me. Why are fans (seemingly Chicago fans have taken this to new heights) so eager to call a player a bust so early in his career? What’s the motivation and what’s the satisfaction? Is it “first-ism?” “I’m first!” Or, is it “I’m smarter than everyone else, including the professionals!”
Just such a bizarre quirk.
I have no idea where Reichel is going to end up, but why the premature ejaculation??? - Aurora Hawk

In two preseason games, playing less than 14 mins in each game with mostly 3rd and 4th liners, he’s scored a goal and is even overall. Screams bust, huh?

Thanks LA. That Chicago page needs some updating. Several listed are no longer with the organ-I-zation. - boilermaker100
I went to see the age criteria also and noticed that.
This entire idea that a prospect is or isn't a certain age ( Roos for example) is what separated a player in the organization for being a prospect has always irked me.
You can be an "older" prospect who was starting to put it together in Europe as wells a guy selected in the past four drafts.
I am not going to go out on a limb on Roos, but I liked what I saw of his development and I see him as a possible, where as after his signing, I would have categorized it as a least we tried type move. |

Agree, it does note the date of the last update on the player. Of course this site is not the end all, be all, the only thing that matters is what KD and his staff think. Since Doh was interested in tracking the prospects in the system, at least this website covers most of them on one page. |

He may not pan out, but in your case it’s called impatience with a 20 yo, during a rebuild no less.
Also, congratulations! You’ve taken Edzo’s place as the new #hottakes poster.
The board needed one of those so thanks for stepping up. |

By your analogy of "disappearing," Toews is a bust. Give the kid a break. |

My guess is if the Blackhawks brain trust envisions Reichel as a wing, he would be up with the big club this year playing top 6. With the dearth of center prospects in the system, I think they will have him as a #1C in Rockford again to keep learning the position, and as said before, when he is called up, he stays for good, not be a yoyo back and forth. No sense playing him this year as a 3C. Hawks want Domi with Kane to pad the stats for a deadline trade, and Toews is your #2 (and probably gone by the TDL also) |

Unfortunately for Reichel he's being envisioned as Jeremy Roenick.

Yes, and get used to winning in Rockford instead of the futility sure to be the NHL club. |

Brandon Yager would be a helluva consolation prize.

Reichel added #15. The old Arkansas Clinton analogy, if I had $2 last year and $3 this year I have 50% more money but I'm still damn poor. He went from ultra light to just light. Another #15 and then let's see? |

Why? Guys don’t have to be enormous to be effective. In one offseason he gained 15 lbs. up to 185. Panarin is listed at about the same size, and no one is hoping he puts on weight. Let the kid actually grow into being a good hockey player before trying to change what he is. |
