Reichel sent down per Ben Pope twitter. - boilermaker100
He'll be back up for sure when Domi, Athanasiou, Johnson, Kane or Toews are traded.
Richardson seems set on a 1L of Kane, Domi and Athanasiou and a 2L of Toews, Johnson and Raddyish. I assume he doesn't want Reichel in the bottom 6.
Neither 1L or 2L is impressive at all. From what I've seen in 2 shut outs in a row, I'd put Kane and Toews together so at least there will be one line that can score.
Edit- just saw Boiler's post about the lines:

Can't believe they couldn't at least get a low round pick for Beaudin...
But I'm sure they tried. |

They couldn’t get anything for Kubalik, Strome, or Kalynuk and they were all better than Beaudin. |

If the following, I can't see Dach or Robinson making the team. Hardman and R. Johnson probably the 13th and 14th forwards.
On D still no Murphy due to some back issues. I can see that reoccurring throughout the season. McCabe doing some skating with Galvas who had a minor injury himself. Wonder if those 3 pairings will start the season.

KD = Stan II. Why do we keep getting these morons who cannot accomplish tasks that the Internet GM's find obvious? Any semi-capable GM gets at least a third for all those guys. Calvin de Haan, too. |

IMO Davidson is looking to use his $7 mil. in cap space (with McCabe on IR) to "help out" a cash strapped team.

Richardson said Reichel had a "pretty good attitude" about the news he'd start in Rockford.
"He put a lot of work in this summer and his game's improving. But for an NHL elite skills guy, it's just not quite there yet... He knows there's going to be opportunity here this year." |

Khudobin and Dallas' 2nd rounder for future considerations. Hawks can keep the three headed monster in net, and trade someone to whoever needs goalie insurance down the stretch. |

#Blackhawks assign Mike Hardman and Jakob Galvas to AHL’s Rockford IceHogs.
Nicolas Beaudin, Luke Philp, Brett Seney and Dylan Sikura were also placed on waivers.
That essentially puts the training camp roster at 29 players..
Probably means Vlasic and Regula make the opening day roster.

True, true, true GP.
Looking at the 2018 draft, not much going on after Beaudin was taken at 27. Solid, but not great Lundkvist at 28 and Sandin at 29. |

would you put a claim in for oskar Steen short but stocky good skating bottom 6. 6 pts in 20 games in NHL and 35 in 49 AHL he is 24. Reese is 24 had 6 pts in 37 games in the NHL and 11 in 25 games in AHL over 2 years. I would consider him a upgrade. |

Reichel added #15. The old Arkansas Clinton analogy, if I had $2 last year and $3 this year I have 50% more money but I'm still damn poor. He went from ultra light to just light. Another #15 and then let's see? - rpeters01
Ehhhhh. 185 is fine especially considering his age. Kadri is only 190ish. Kirby Dach had "size" even though he was only a buck 90 at 6'4 or whatever so definitions of "big" or "size" is pretty warped.
As long as he's strong and maintains his speed and agility don't see why it matters. Its not like you'd expect a player like that to be a banger anyway. |

Not really. The AHL is an overflow \ placeholder league. For guys who are probably NHL players but don't have a spot on a stacked team (like a bunch of those fellers from the lightning) OR for some reserves that may be kinda sort of ok down the line.
The value of playing in the AHL is blown way out of proportion especially when you look at today's good players and how much time they spend there. It should be a year minimum and if they can't make the team after that the liklyhood that they are going to turn into a top six player is slim. Granted there are outliers but its very atypical.
If a player is sent back to the AHL - especially on a garbage team like this - it pretty much means they're not a very good NHL player.
Some guys need a year maybe to grow up or adjust to the smaller ice or because there's no roster spot but otherwise its a waste of time and hampers more than helps development.

What about Neal? He doesn't score a lot of points anymore and isn't that the point? A decent veteran who can play a little D.
