I heard Eichel is having a strong camp, there is a cap dump opportunity there. |

They would be above the cap floor by roughly a little over $100K if they traded Bjork for nothing, and that doesn't include the salary of the player that would take his place.
Example: Trade Bjork for nothing, put Malone in the minors, have Peterka and Sheahan on the NHL roster = roughly $1.2M over the cap floor.
The cap is a non-issue regarding how much Bjork helps it.
The point is about trying to improve your roster everywhere possible, no matter how small the improvement, and almost any player would be a positive impact over Bjork. - kingcong39
Fair enough, I agree with improving everywhere, I just don't see it being as necessary to the over impact of the team as say even guys playing on the 3rd line regularly. Not saying you are saying this either, but at the end of the day, every team has a Bjork, sometimes two or three.
Conversely, in your scenario presented, is Sheahan even an upgrade? From what I remember about him maybe a wash. Also we all have high hopes for JJP, but if preseason is any indication, I think one more year would do him wonders in the minors, or at least start there.
But to go back to the NFL v NHL comparison, the Bills can cut a player with generally no expense. The Sabres will have to pay Bjork then pay his replacement, so there is a real money difference.
Either way, I don't really care about Bjork as the 14th, you guys can run around in circles with this one. He won't be here next year unless something drastically changes in his game. |

MASH unit.
Sean McDermott on @WGR550 rules out safety Jordan Poyer and tight end Dawson Knox, among others expected, for Sunday’s game against the Steelers.
McDermott also ruled out CB Christian Benford, WR Jake Kumerow and WR Jamison Crowder.
Crowder expected to be placed on IR
McDermott also said Isaiah McKenzie is still in concussion protocol

It was actually an honest question as I have a close friend who smokes consistently, and while he claims he has no memory issues, he often has problems remembering things. - kingcong39
Definitely can be an issue, but it's really inconsistent. It's hard even to explain. If it's something/someone I really care about, no, not an issue in the least. When it comes to things of marginal importance like shows watched to pass time or audiobook #3 you've listened to that month... 100%.
For example, in September I listened to several audiobooks The Sun Also Rises, Catastrophe 1914, The Guns of August, Thunder at twilight and The Churchill Factor. Of the five, I remember The Sun Also Rises well because it was the only fiction and it's a good story I've read before. I remember the themes and general thesis of the Guns of August quite well, but little of the specifics that I already didn't know about the run up to WWI. I'm rereading Catastrophe 1914 right now because I didn't pay enough attention to it last time and I can always listen to WWI stories. I remember almost nothing of Thunder at Twilight except that Vienna was one hell of a city pre WWI. Sigismund Freud, Lenin, Stalin, and Hitler all spent time there amongst a host of the other most important people of the 20th century. I recall the fact that Boris Johnson thinks Winston Churchill to be the most important human being to have ever lived in The Churchill Factor, but not much more than that.
Forget about TV. If it's not a live sport I'm just watching to spend time with my wife while she watches home improvement TV or high drama on the high seas. that's all one blur of attractive people and drama.
This can also be a symptom of modern society where we consume more content in a week than most people used to consume in a year for the vast majority of human history. Stuff gets lost. I try and read a lot to counteract whatever cognitive dissolution the smoke brings. We'll see in 35 years if it worked or I'm drooling. |

He does not make more in the minors then in the NHL.
You are mixing up his cap hit versus his actual salary.
https://www.capfriendly.com/players/anders-bjork
His NHL and minors salary is the same this season, just as it was the prior 2 seasons of his contract. - kingcong39

It’s a nice spin and misdirection vs admitting Comrie/UPL can’t outplay Anderson.
Edit*
Also, I’m sure opposing coaches who play their back up goalie vs the Sabres for the past decade are concerned with this move. |

bjork played 58 games last year for the sabres with eakin anchoring a blah line and hayden playing almost 60 games and jankowski playing 19
donnie will have plenty of chances to get bjork on the ice
only chance bjork is under 40 games is if he is traded at deadline |
