So Friedman said the Stars and Robertson are moving farther apart then closer in Negotiations. Doesn't think Dallas should be playing hardball with him.

I'm sorry but there are zero teams that should be taking this position with a player of his caliber and age.
Congrats to 72 on the Gordie. Is Okposo hurt already?
Having said that Thompson fighting last night is an indication that the players know they are called soft. I liked it but its poor planning to have the 1C or top pairing dman filling those roles.
The way the roster is set up has the top end guys also playing the tough guys, and no one is named Ovechkin…anticipate injuries ladies and germs, specifically ones that could’ve been avoided if the team was built correctly.
Just because they focus on skill and speed doesn’t mean the game doesn’t include the rough stuff. Broken record rant over.
Quinn and Power look great, 4-6-2 will be the first months record.

Curious, what is a reasonable contract for Robertson in your opinion? - IonSabres
there's a lot of reasonable ways to attack it, but I would say 6-8 years by 7.8-8M is pretty reasonable. If you're buying all those UFA years I guess you'd probably expect to see about 8.5M.

Can they sign him to 8yrs right of the bat. Thought he had to be under contract for 1yr after the trade to sign for more than 7yrs
I'd bet Robertson wants at least $9M per, and possibly for a shorter term (say 5 seasons), so he can really cash in big when the cap has zoomed upwards.

And I wouldn't blame him, hit FA at 28 when the cap should be in the upper 90m range.

Yeah I mean Buffalo can only do 7 but Dallas can do 8. I was under the impression we were talking about Dallas signing him but I see we're talking about Buffalo.
Yeah sign 'N trade
I think there was more validation to use it in Tkachuk's case than in a Robertson trade, but what do I know.

Yup I would agree with this. Dallas has only about 6 mill in space. So when ever they sign him. They will have to dump someone
