Hey Jhawk. I’ve not seen a second of hockey yet. I’m working in Zurich for the time being. I get to go home for a week on Oct 22, then come home for the holidays at the end of Nov, but I won’t be able to watch any action for a while. Sucks because I actually want to watch right now. I like being able to just focus on one or two players for an entire game. It’s harder to do when you are watching a winning team. - Chunk
So when you are home I hope and trust one or three rookies will have been playing well. Enjoy this when you cast your eyes upon this home remedy of watching a hockey game. Know that even "Sweet home Chicago" even if it is Bob Probert singing this karaoke style. .....is good. Because he used pound out the song. and "ain't it good to be back home again" where even a miscast song of olden days can sound good. Out of respect to those who may not like country, I (who sort of like some country once in a while) will not say who sings those words on a well known song. |

Any predictions on when the Hawks will get their first win of the season? I’m thinking October 29 vs. Buffalo. |

It’s possible, but I doubt it. If there’s someone on waivers who makes the Hawks worse then it could happen. - DarthKane
Nylander and Gus? The board would love it 😜 |

The salary cap won't be an issue for the Hawks for several years.
They won't have another significant cap hit until Bedard's 3 year ELC expires at the end of the 25/26 season, (assuming the clock starts on him next season). Or when Fantilli's expires after the 26/27 season (assuming he plays one more year at Michigan before he turns pro). Korchinski's ELC will also probably expire after 25/26 or 26/27. FWIW, by that time the cap is expected to be in the low to mid 90M's.
Can't see the current crop of kids - Reichel, Mitchell, Vlasic, Regula, Phillips, Roos, Soderblum, Raddysh, Katchouk, Entwistle - breaking the bank when their ELC's expire within the next two years.
And I doubt KD will spend like a drunken sailor on free agents until he needs a final piece or two to supplement the prospects. That's several years away too. - boilermaker100
Well said. It would be great for them to have cap issues, especially so early in guys' careers. It would mean that a bunch of them turned out to be damn good. |

name 3 players on the team today who will be on the team when they next reach the WCF - I do think Jones will be unloaded somehow in the next 2 yrs - glennjpawlak22
Will any of them be still playing NHL hockey? Still alive by then? It's tough to say. |

They will probably come out and win to start the season winning 2 or 3 games, just to give some hope before falling apart. |

If they do that Richardson is coach of the year, no matter what happens the last 79 games.

I know that Nylander The Lesser got sent down to the Wilkes-BarreScranton Penguins, I had to dig a little to find Gus and he's signed with the Caps along with TVR and D. Strome.

Sounds like They are hoping (at best) that Murphy is good to go for opening night. McCabe is for sure not starting game one, and also looks like Caleb is not starting game 1. I think you take out the second pairing and those are the pairs. |

Looking past the trade deadline I could see Richardson insert Mitchell for Murphy. Beyond that it may be a few prospects back and forth to Rockford due to their inconsistency and injuries among the blueline crew. Galvas makes sense to stick as he has shown composure and steadiness in his AHL & NHL performance.
Roos and Vlasic just need experience then they stick. I know both Phillips and Crevier need to step up. Neither is ready. Perhaps DelMastro and or Korchinski gets one game end of season. Kaiser is the next guy I suggest ready with not much transition issue. But he may remain in school for two seasons
If you look at each possible move I could guess Murphy's fragility could be less a worrisome issue for his new team if Stillman/Galvas was included.
I will predict early that eventually Stillman is a fair third pair gaining experience and lending muscle. Galvas is good but it is a constant battle to remain healthy as he is a smallish size player
Too early to predict how soon or how good both Vlasic and Roos grade out

Obviously not if he is going to fill Stillman's role....
They just made room to rotate their Rockford defenders in and out. |
