Wow, good for her. This stuff coming out is the first step to changing. There are a log of old/new NHL players worried I bet. Maybe they think twice now.
The issue is it goes all the way down to Jr. B or lower, the same mindsets. I do think it's getting better slowly.
Just had a son and my wife who is an athletic therapist said hockey kids were always the worst. She doesn't even want him to play unless the culture is better, and honestly, I agree! Super sad as I grew up playing too, but poop has to change.

I'd be interested in hearing what Bob Nicholson has to say? He's been sheltered from this whole HC mess. Not that you'd hear the truth.

I don’t think it’s getting better. I coached for 9 years. In the early years we always had girls on the teams. We’d try to drill respect into them all the time. But coaching a quad team in Calgary I would hear the boys talking all the time about the poop they’d do to girls at their schools. I would speak up but would quickly get shut down by the association. It’s rampant. The majority of them are entitled little pieces of poop.

Yah, you're prob right. Just more ways for guys to get caught now with cell phones and stuff. My wife knows quite a few girls who were assaulted by OHL teams / guys but nothing ever said or done.
My plan was tp coach as well and hope to make better....fml sad to hear your story.
Cole sounds like a predator, I think the majority are just bumholes that disrespect women (which is bad) but I don't think most are assaulting / grooming girls....I hope
I've heard some crazy stories directly from some of these guys, or through friends that work for the NHL. Pretty f'ed.

It's society problem, not just hockey, I was working in a government office and it had men's and women's change rooms that multiple employees could use at once, the men's had a swinging push door and the women had the same door but with a lock. There are too many creeps under the radar.
The only thing I've heard from the club is from Bruce who thinks its nothing serious. He added he didnt talk with the doctors yet... That was yesterday I think. I also hear he's an angry elf.
So far I think it's clear this club is content on going the path it was on before Benning got fired. Obviously they intend to make less mistakes than him but the path seems obvious and they have said as much. No reset... additions to make the playoffs more important than acquisitions of picks for replenishing the prospect pool. At TDL, they will focus on making the playoffs again which probably means more picks being moved.
This is what FA wants. This is what management does.
