Washington has a defensive pairing of TVR and Gustafson - LAHawk
TVR + Gus pair had 14 TOI. That is on low side for third pair? Gus could get more TOI with Pp duty. |

Yea I see and now announcements of all peanut vendors and ticket takers. Puck drop at 11:15 EST - kwolf68
On radio
The Avalanche Stanley Cuo rings valued at $6500. The announcers said the Avslanche logo and the Cup (or snow?) Was same color.
I would think Blackhawks Cup ring if it has Indian Blackhawk colors- is beautiful |

Some guy named Caufield with 2 goals for Montreal.
Strome with an assist for the Caps. - boilermaker100
I remember somebody here calling for the Hawks to draft Caufield. Who was that?

Hawks are playing hard, but no match for the AVs. Nice pass by Kurashev to the captain on the PP. This team will struggle to put up shots and goals all year, yes Captain Onvious speaking. |

If the Hawks drafted him, he would have been traded by now. |

Pretty much. Hawks will likely get between 12-18 shot per game at best. But none of this is a shock. |

The sad calculation is even if the Hawks have the worst record in the NHL this year (and they likely will) they literally ONLY HAVE an 18% chance of getting the first overall pick. |

Odds are the Hawks don’t get the #1 pick, it’s best to go into the season with that understanding. |

Hard to watch, but they are playing the Champs. A rebuild was necessary, unfortunately it happened way too late. Hawks will be good again, when? |

Yup. Top 3 is the ceiling. They have to hit the other picks. If they stumble into the 1st overall and get Bedard great, but there is an 80% chance it won't happen. How did Edmonton always get those #1s and have not done poop with any of them. |

Yea better than every team other that Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay. It was good and fun. We just didn't have the right people in the GM chair to sustain what was gifted to them. Water under the bridge, 3 Cups is sweet.
That said this team may lose 60 games this year. |

Whitelaw is an 05 and will be in the 2023 draft.... On a real good USHL Youngstown team that has 4 kids already drafted and with him 05 Dman Strathman and 04 goalie Fowler sure to be drafted the group is gonna make some noise.
Whitelaw is only 5ft 9 in 172 lb but he plays much bigger. Kid gets to the middle of the ice and is strong on the puck. Played with Celebrini (eligible for the 2024 draft and plays with the Steel this yr) and Cole Eiserman last yr at SSM.
Whitelaw was with the US Hlinka team last yr and sure to be with the USA U-18 WJC squad this yr........ Long way to go but you think Whitelaw lasts until rd 3 in 2023, Wiz?
https://www.eliteprospect...r/603194/william-whitelaw - Mr Ricochet
I had him to hawks in second round in 2023, and the Elite prospects link you have here says he is a 2023. ( OH, YOU WERE TALKING ABOUT Macklin Celebrini, who goes second behind the Finnish Cole Makar, Aron Kiviharju on my 2024 board: https://www.lines.com/nhl/drafts/2024)
The only reason I have downgraded him so far at this juncture to the hawk's 2023 3rd rd pick at #65 is that this draft is full of much bigger players also with talent.
https://www.lines.com/nhl/drafts/2023. <---new ranks, more profiles...
He is actually more like 5'8" and I do have a 5' 8 Denver Barkey ahead of him, but these tiny framed skill guys are lovely to watch in junior and DeBrincat shattered the myth, but honestly, this class at both forward and defense is loaded with such an unusual amount of high end projectable players, it starts to be a matter of which teams rank each prospect where in their plans.
I am gonna move him up. (I just wanted him to be a Blackhawk, and when I flushed him out of their 2nd rounder)
Right now I cannot wrap my head around where Tampa will select as the only thing I am fairly certain is will be from 16-28.
I honestly think that this 6' 6" Michael Hrabal from Czechia should be in their sites with only the Rockford kid and Drew Commesso in the stable as possibles.
I also think they will concentrate on forwards.
So they a forward early (and if he is Bedard, would their be Smurf room to draft another with the other second or third (the early second rounder) like William Whitelaw?
I think they will look for fast skilled guys with shots, and that is why I had Musty ahead of Whitelaw in my latest.
I just think that a not fully evolved larger centre or wing is where they go with most of their selections. They will be looking for Lafferty's that score.
So I expect maybe all but a possible goalie selection in those top six picks they have in the first three rounds, and unless one of my early first rounders who is smaller doesn't drop to that Tampa Bay 1st slot, they will look for durability reach & feet in scorers...which doesn't give Whitelaw a good chance to play here.
((I think for the Blackhawks to use a early one of their picks on a defenseman, he would have to be a gem that slipped down, not a Samuel Rinzel-type developmental pick that is super large, skates well, and COULD develop.))
oh that Elite prospect projection has William Whitelaw with a 124 pins this year!
(Pretty big projection for the Youngstown Phantom who is small, eh?)
And if anybody is curious of our off topic kid, here is Shattuck St. Mary footage::
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJ7AEPdzIUw
I DO think Kaner to Rangers gets them more than one first rounder based on the $ the Blackhawks retain and the quality of Kane. He isn't DeBrincat or Claude Giroux...if Kane wants out, the team that acquires him gets more than injection...he is more like an organizational transplant in value....or a newbie Cup challenger who is sure they can resign him, and will sell the farm in draft picks to secure him for a run.
It is not difficult to project what Kane does for a Buffalo, or New Jersey or LA, or Minnesota besides the true higher echelon sniffers...

Yes... and it sucks. Ask any Wings fan about the lottery draft. We had teams getting higher picks than us with better records (Rangers, etc..). It's taken Yzerman like 3+ years to clean up the dumpster fire that Ken Holland left. And we never got a #1 pick for the last 6 years when the Wings were bad. And none of our top 10 picks are superstars / super elite franchise players you need to win championship (Ovechkin, Crosby, Kucherov, etc... ).
Luckily the Detroit scouts & Yzerman did pick some very good players in Seider and Raymond who still have a very high ceiling and are young. And our prospect pool is now very deep... the rebuild to get there is not fun. You just have to ride it out.... but I feel your pain. The Wings fans miss the glory years too when the team was stocked with star players. |
