Should I have been more specific for you? - manvanfan
No. I’m just commenting on the blog post. It’s somewhat useful but incomplete |

Agreed. The give away stat doesn't show how bad he handled the puck the entire game. Those passes to no one that the Canucks scrambled to recover etc don't exactly help the team. The poop passes to team mates, same thing.... - boonerbuck
Canucks passing and ability to receive passes in general I find a bit sloppy. The team needs to get better at executing one timers, can’t give goalies time to get set.
It was painful watching some of the missed opportunities last night. |

One of Boeser, Horvat or Miller wasn't going to fit into the cap situation long term with Petey coming up. Seems they've made their choice on which one goes. Can't see them fitting in Horvat now.
Boeser over Horvat for similar money? Got to do everything possible not to lose control over Boeser I'm told.

Yes and yes plus switch the PP up a bit. Teams know Petey will be in the Ovechkin zone move him around a bit and get Boeser back out there shooting. We know where Miller/Horvat will be and Hughes technically but with shooters like Petey and Brock we need to get creative. Much in the way the Caps did with Ovechkin...move him around the PP FFS. |

Miller plays the Ovechkin side not Petey.

This is a tough one as I knew Miller and Boeser were staying but maybe Bo does get moved at one point? Cap issues aside he looks pouty right now as well around his body language in his interviews and such. I'm sure if Bo got his 7.7 mil per we'd have seen a very different player last night. But Rutherford has found ways in the past with PIT to move salary out and retain depth all that even around the Crosby/Malkin/Letang deals. Some moving and shaking will need to be done lol |

Yes I get that but I'm referring to both sides. If you watched WAS closely at one point they moved OVi around both sides...on the point and in front of the net. I'd like to see Brock there in the 'Miller' zone as well. Kid can score and shoot. And just move Petey around a bit don't try to plant him in the same spot every PP. And we don't need to see Pearson on PP1...ever. |

I'm quite amazed at this management's logic. They are willing to trade a 2nd round pick to free up around 1.5ish cap space because of how critical the cap space need is but they are not willing to part with Boeser for nothing to very little in return to free up Boeser's 6.65m cap space.
I'm sorry management fanboys but this is absolutely retarded. |

A tie with Myers. Behind OEL and Hughes.
A guy that you wish you had on your 3rd pairing and not your 2nd but if you had to have him on you 2nd, hope that you have 3 that are much better. |

For $1m more, I'd invest in Horvat over Boeser over and over and over.

Oh for sure but I'm sure patience is on MNGT's mind. If this club is 12 points back of a PO spot at TDL you can bet on a sh!t ton of cap getting freed up lol |

Yeah that Boeser contract does not look good. Not only does it make Horvat more costly as a direct teammate comparison but it also hurts the team’s cap space to even re-sign Horvat |

I’d take him over Myers. Both are in that weird spot where you don’t want them out against top lines and they don’t exactly create offense either. They just soak up minutes but I do think Sanheim is a bit better at it.
OEL I still think has more to show, but he needs a puck mover with him. Kind of how Edler did as he aged. |

Wait, are you saying they're screwed because teams will copy Edmonton and the Canucks will be systematically destroyed? Or are you saying the Canucks are pros and can adjust pretty easily to it?
'Cause you're sorta saying both... - NewYorkNuck
How am I saying both? Sure, our players are pro's, but they follow the game plan that Jason King puts out for them on the PP. King seems to just follow what Brown did and never deviate. Sure our players are pro's and can adjust, but they will follow his plan and other teams will be waiting. |
