Unfortunately Character is hard to change in that aspect. Most either have it or they just don't.
- Buff36

IMO, Character is a trait that is both inherited and can taught and learned ( environmental influence).
Harder for some, especially the older one gets

It's only been 2 games, you have to give time for chemistry to build and confidence to rise.
- Buff36

Really, because all I see on here is 2 games in sending players down.

Sure can be learned. But if you have made it to the NHL and have never been that person to stand up, you probably aren't gonna change that aspect much.

No, no he shouldn't. He should be playing and developing. Like other young players, he also needs to be coached up.

It is a development year, again.

Interesting after 2 games thischoard wants to walk away from the mission of this year.

How about Tage? Haven't seen too much about a guy who looks like he is regressing hard.

- IonSabres

What is he developing into? Is that development better suited playing top line/pp minutes in the AHL or 3rd line no pp minutes?

The Sabres as a professional sports organization should be able to balance development and fielding a competitive team.

Don’t worry Gerbe glued Krebs face on a Briere poster and hung it in Adams office, he ain’t going anywhere

There's a couple that were borderline before the season even started and haven't really done anything to change that feeling. I can see both sides but it does nothing to change it right now.

Man I gotta say I thought I would be more stoked for this season but I really haven’t the slightest interest.

That old saying that Sabres season doesn’t start until Bills season ends I guess 🤔

Krebs should sit a game and let’s see how Hino handles 4C role. Krebs honestly should be in the AHL

Your Sabres 5v5 xGF% numbers so far this season via @EvolvingHockey

First line fix is staring them in the face. biggest positive of the year so far other than the obvious peterka is Krebs, who has earned those underlyings

So far, they've got 2 lines in Krebs - Cozens - Peterka and Girgensons - Asplund - Okposo.

Meatballs already put Tuch back with Skinner and Thompson.

That leaves a line of Quinn - Mittelstadt - Olofsson that you pray doesn't get completely dominated.

- kingcong39

I agree with granato having 2 lines clicking.

The Quinn mitts and olofsson line looks like a cluster F bomb 💣

I still think olofsson is useless 5 on 5.

I disagree with this. I was definitely excited to see some real hockey being played.

The Sabres got beat by a much better team but they scrapped out a few nice goals, battled hard, and showed they care.

Which last year at this time. It wasn’t like that

Weren't you just cautioning me that is is only 2 games in...
regarding suggested line composition changes.
Now you're on board with sending Quinn down?

Let him and Peterkaa, Krebs play, coach them up through their transition phase.
I have faith in Donnie

Was everyone expecting Quinn to have 4 goals. already? Krebs 5 assists?

They may have made it to overtime if not for the Knight save on Skinner.

They got outplayed, no question, but their goaltender kept them in it.

Where did I say send them down. And there were players that were borderline. Has Quinn done anything to change that.

Imagine watching the Sabres play these two games and thinking Peyton Krebs has outplayed Alex Tuch.

Peca was right about Peterka, kid is money.

1st line problem - Olo
2nd line problem - Mitts
3rd line weakest link by a mile - Krebs
4th line problem - Okposo looks 45 out there

Numbers will change dramatically throughout the season. I’ve watched last season, kept up through camp and preseason, and watched both games…the problem players aren’t bad, but are used incorrectly due to poor roster management.

These players have upside, the role they are currently being implemented to fill exposes them, that’s not good development IMO.

I agree with you in what they are missing.

For a team to be really good, you need 3 players like Tuch at forward and one like him on defense.

They need 2 more at forward so they have one to anchor each of the top 3 lines.

Players like Tuch are difficult to find, but it is what they are sorely lacking.
