Trading for Palmieri instead of Hall was a huge mistake. Hall was EXACTLY what we needed... Palmieri is exactly what we have plenty of. - niteislander
Hall isn’t hot poop either. What’s more, he wanted to go to Boston. He wouldn’t have waived to come to the Islanders. |

Actually remember seeing Staple say back at the time that the Isles had a deal in place for Hall but the Devils were willing to throw in Zajac with Palms so Lou took that deal instead. |

Yep, supposedly it was Zajac that pushed it over the top. Hard to imagine |

I honestly don't think last night was THAT bad. The second period was rough but otherwise I think they held up OK. There were some things that I thought they improved on and other 'issues' that appear to have carried over, but it's 1 of 82.
I'm majorly concerned with Palm's and Parise being the long term solves for Barzals linemates. I still think we're too slow up front, but I feel good about our defense. It would be nice if Raty could play his way back up but probably unreasonable to exoect. |

Very little room for error for the goalie and defense.

Weird on tv it looked empty and pretty much silent. - Cptmjl
From a TV perspective it was extremely quiet. Outside of the beginning of the game you want have known it was their home opener.

I think a part of that was they had the crowd mics lowered during the intros and had the PA announcer cranked up because once the game started you could hear the crowd a lot more. During the Intros it sounded like the place was empty but it wasn't |

Also was anybody else feed behind the actual action? When Dobson scored I heard Burke go nuts before the puck even went in This shat happens every year |

BTW: that siren they had Eddie W cranking sounded so pathetic it was hilarious. They need to replace that thing asap. I nearly fell off my couch laughing, it was so bad. |

I was there and not watching on TV, but it's been like that all preseason and all last season, across Isles/Rangers/Devils. It's absolutely terrible and I have no idea how MSG hasn't fixed it yet. |

I think it will sound better when an 82 year old isn't the one cranking it.. but I thought it was the original horn from the coliseum. That doesn't appear to be the case. |

I’m aware I’m not disputing that I’m just saying when I watch games on tv there’s empty seats and it always sounds like the crowds aren’t loud. |

It wasn’t that bad it just wasn’t that good either
They had little glimpses where they looked good. New coach and system not always going to happen starting game 1 of the season. |
