Was going to write a snappy comeback, but damn, it's true.

Lol ...don't worry, right there with you. I had the Vid this summer and couldn't run/ride for about a month. The damn atrophy ....was almost like I had to learn to walk again.

I hate the cap, Cap friendly says we are accruing cap space...if that's the case then the Murray injury has an extra silver lining to it.

Both my daughters volunteered for the Toronto Waterfront Marathon yesterday, and I didn't run it.

I feel like a complete piece of poop - would have been great to get a cup of Gatorade from one of them.

Hopefully this kicks my ass to get back into training.

Subject to some kind of dark magic that's my understanding - you cannot accrue cap space while using LTIR.

I expect the Leafs to be cash in/cash out come deadline time.

Does any know which Coyotes goalie is starting and putting up a .972 against us tonight?

I think it's Kallgren vs. Vejmelka?

I think it has to be formatting/calculation condition that they aren't doing right.

You can't accrue cap space when using LTIR.

LTIR space is used on the other side of the cap. So if you're at $82.1m, and a $1m player gets injured, and you call up a $1m replacement player, the first $400k of the salary tops up to $82.5, leaving you with $600k of LTIR space.

Right now we have $77.5m in actual salaries on the roster - Simmonds, Mete, Kallgren and Robertson are all Emergency Loans, so they do not count against the cap. But we also have $6.8m in LTIR space, so maybe there's something to that math . . . but the LTIR salaries still count against the cap, so we're over the limit and using LTIR space.

In 4 weeks time, they'll have to make some tough roster decisions.. Unless, Murray is out longer than expected.

I have to think we'll see a trade soon(ish)

Except we will probably have another guy go on LTIR.

It's the reality of the sport - at any given time, you'll probably have 1-2 guys out for a month or more.

That would be worst case though... I don't want a player making more than $4M on LTIR... Well, maybe Muzzin

Most thought that was going to occur before opening day.
It did not.
Maybe they lose someone to waivers

It’s going to have to be $2Mish or more. Waivers aren’t going to cut it. Engvall, Kerfoot or Holl would seem most likely/talked about

My bet is that Murray is out longer than 4 weeks.

I think 4 weeks was minimum. They don’t want to Mrazek him and bring him back early. Unless Muzzin dies, they’re going to have to trade someone

Not that tough - its looking like Engvall will be the one to be moved. Kerfoot would be another possible choice but he is more valuable to the team IMO. This would also depend upon the Leafs remaining healthy when Murray is ready to come back. Another LTIR player would buy Dubas more time.

JT looks the quickest I've seen since he's been here. Has a lot of jump so far.
