It was Columbus, who are terrible, take it with a grain of salt. If they don’t play better defensively I don’t see them winning any of those games. Perhaps a couple losers points? - Pacificgem
Maybe playing bad is a blessing in disguise. get Bedard at draft and sell Kuzmenko/Horvat at TDL. Use extra cash to address Defense. |

We can clown on the Canucks, but the thing about a high scoring environment is that multi-goal leads are harder to hold. There have been five multi-goal leads blown so far in the early window of NHL games tonight, with the Senators in the process of blowing a fifth
The Devils, Flyers, Blue Jackets, Bruins, Sharks, Oilers, Flames, and Kings all faced 2-goal deficits at some point tonight. Five of those eight teams wound up winning.

It is training camp for most of these players. - Reubenkincade
I like the fact the team states injuries are no longer an excuse, the goal is make the playoff's which is reasonable. If things go off the rails Boudreau will probably be the first domino.

Gonna need some draft lotto luck. We all know Bettman has other plans for the Canucks.
Team badly needs to draft and develop their own D. Good D are becoming harder to find it seems. Stable 2nd pairing D are getting 6m plus a season now because a good 2nd pairing D is almost a unicorn nowadays |

Sooner or later probably back to earth and maybe they will want to trade for Miller then. |

It’s been a very small sample size, and in my opinion the Canucks were always a bubble team anyway. There’s plenty of time for them to become that. |

Without a doubt. Spent 4-5 seasons developing Motte...then traded when he is doing exactly what we need him to do. Oh, and he wanted a raise for being a better player in the bottom 6 which doesn't fit the 975K narrative. - LordHumungous
The worst part is they had every opportunity to sign him afterwards as a free agent. He got signed super late. He looks great on Ottawa the small bits I've seen. I really liked what he brought. |

He has the ability to get less than talented teams to just work extremely hard and play well within his systems. His issues start, later in his coaching career, when he has talented players who think they’re better than, and smatter than, the coach. That’s when he loses the room. |

Canucks draft Lekkerimaki. With the situation this team is in, a totally braindead pick. This team doesn't need another soft flaky Swede because he has a good shot.

Yet Garland sits? $4,950,000 cap hit, something needs to give. - VanHockeyGuy
It's how we do. Crush his value even as an asset. If a guy is being sat on a p*ss poor team, no one going to give up much for him. He's actually one of my fav on the team. |

Miller is now untradeable with the new contract. Wagon is hitched to him. It would either have to be a hockey trade (which rarely happens nowadays) or a team willing to re-arrange their whole plan with that term for an older guy. Even then, a team would probably want to know last season wasn't a flash in the pan and by then, his NTC kicks in making it even tougher. |

Some interesting player stat breakdowns of last nights game.
https://canucksarmy.com/n...nGr_czXgkHP5qvQgSQcx3vcBw
Our super management team completely destroyed what was an effective 4rth line last season. Joshua and Aman are a disaster. Lazar might have been a good addition to last season's 4rth line but he's being held down by 2 players that absolutely don't belong in the NHL and is just being wasted currently.
Boeser with best numbers even though he didnt end up on the scoreboard. Nothing to celebrate though.
Not surprising at all, the Petey line was best by miles. |

I had Lekkerimaki at 15 in my rankings only a couple Russians ahead of him that weren't picked. So I won't complain yet. Ideally you are picking BPA and make moves from there but when the need has been as glaring as it has been, the BPA in this situation seemed a bit braindead. I will give it some time to see but as I had mentioned in a previous blog only 4 D drafted in top 2 rounds in over a decade. Not nearly enough. |

It terrifies me to think if the Canucks were picking 7th in the last draft, they would have taken Lekkerimaki. |
