Some interesting player stat breakdowns of last nights game.
https://canucksarmy.com/n...nGr_czXgkHP5qvQgSQcx3vcBw
Our super management team completely destroyed what was an effective 4rth line last season. Joshua and Aman are a disaster. Lazar might have been a good addition to last season's 4rth line but he's being held down by 2 players that absolutely don't belong in the NHL and is just being wasted currently.
Boeser with best numbers even though he didnt end up on the scoreboard. Nothing to celebrate though.
Not surprising at all, the Petey line was best by miles. - boonerbuck
4th line numbers have been better in other games. Other than Lazar when he moves up. That 4th line isn't helping out the team.
Canucks D this year has been pretty awful. When Burroughs is a bright spot and you desperately miss Myers. There is problems.
I still think OEL gets bought out end of this year. |

It terrifies me to think if the Canucks were picking 7th in the last draft, they would have taken Lekkerimaki. - boonerbuck
It's probably time to get rid of the longest serving Canucks amateur scouts. Gradin, Delmore and that crazy looking Russian |

Garland has a 55.88% corsi at 5v5 this season and hasn’t been on the ice for a single 5v5 goal against. Scratching him is utterly baffling. |

The D were healthy for first time last game. But pairs didn’t make sense.
Anyway, if the draft is only way to fix the D then they’ll be trading a lot of players. Buyouts not necessary for the big 5 year rebuild.
Still time to make things work with this core though. I think their plan is to make playoffs next couple seasons. But be a contender to add D when the cap goes up. |

But but but ... Boeser has a good shot. Oh ... I see. - Sayros
As slow as Boeser is, he has 3 assists in 4 games. That is a stat line that gets you playing time. I agree that he hopefully gets traded. |

I have no idea how Bruce and his staff make some of the decisions, but I do know that last season and this one, he has sat a defenseman after playing them the 2nd most, the game before. |

Boser is a redundant over paid contract that will be in the way of future contracts but as far as this season's poor start goes, he's not near the top of the list of Canucks that should be tared and feathered.
Miller, the so called real leader of this team seems to be playing for the opposition most of the time.
Demko looking pretty stale.
Hoglander although engaged, couldn't put the puck in a soccer net.
Joshua and Aman have no business being in the NHL.
Bruce there it was.
Management is out of touch.

I honestly feel bad for Hughes. Few years ago in the race for a Calder with Makar and now comparing what Makar is surrounded with to Hughes ... ugh. Even just on D alone.
I'm not saying Hughes is as good as Makar, and I don't think he makes everyone around him better the same way ... but the trajectory could have been much different. I know I've said it before, but I look back at Tanev as the most costly (non-trade) mistake. There would be more needed around them of course, but Hughes and Tanev would have been a good anchor to build around. Now they just have a good piece floating in the wind. |

Just luck, he’s playing with Pettersson, that’s why he’s plus two
Pettersson is on pace for 100 points and Hughes is on pace for 82 points, where’s their praise from you? They’re both plus players as well. - Pacificgem
Hughes has been (frank)ING awful fatty |

"There are 138 forwards who’ve played at least 200 penalty-kill minutes since the 2019-20 season. Among those 138 forwards, Miller ranks fourth to last with a rate of 9.63 goals against per 60 minutes - manvanfan
Miller should not be on the PK and if Bruce won’t knock off the stupid decisions and make changes he has to go. You have been flagged for quoting Taj. Do it again and you are banned |

It was a 5 minute highlight package, apparently that is all you need. |

Canucks draft Lekkerimaki. With the situation this team is in, a totally braindead pick. This team doesn't need another soft flaky Swede because he has a good shot. - boonerbuck

So do I, but for different reasons.
He thinks his defensive game isn't that bad, which makes me think this kid is way out of touch with reality, or people around him are telling him that it is fine. |

It’s painful when people mention Hughes and Makar in the same sentence. Gudbranson and Josi. It’s like this |

I remember Hughe's early rookie season when we were in awe over him on the PP when he skated the puck into the O zone and after gaining the line put on the brakes and dished out a beauty of a pass after drawing in a player and creating all kinds of space for the PP unit.
Now he carries the puck to the center line and makes a predictable back pass to the rushing forwards and he simply follows the play and waits for the puck to come back to him at the blue line.
This is not on QH. This is the Canucks PP by design... robbing the team's most creative players of their natural skills. |
