Funny how Frost gets singled out despite him actually producing but Farabee has absolutely nada despite a ton more ice time and nobody here seems to have noticed. - Tomahawk
Joel gets, rightly so, a little pass has coming off major surgery. In time if he doesn't produce he will get called out.

Dude, you always watch a different game and I have no idea what you watch. Keep up that Frost agenda though. I did not think he was one of their better forwards at all. The only time I knew he was on the ice was when he had the breakaway and he basically did nothing with that. TK was by far their most noticeable forward and has been through most games at the start of the season. I don't need to look at CORSI stats either. - Phillywhiteout

So zac mac leads all forwards in even strength time? Now that is so funny ass stuff. That should never ever happen. |

I've noticed that Farabee has not been good and in particular I thought he had a rough game last night, but the reality is that he really wasn't even supposed to be playing at the beginning of the season after his surgery, so I do think he deserves a bit of a pass. |

John Tortorella on Zack MacEwen:
"I thought he played well, good energy. Remember this is his fourth game in 5 nights, he was down in the minors. But, he needs to score too."
What does it say about the rest of the forwards f leads in ice time? Is it the coach just making a bad decision? Or are the other players just not that good? Or both? The fact he expects zac to score is hilarious. 4th game on 5 nights yet leads in ice time.
How an one expect to win with him on the ice that much 5 on 5? He skates around looking busy without really accomplishing anything. |

The hype around him is comical. Not his fault in any way. Flyers ruined him. They sabotaged him. Funny reading about him on other boards. Future flyer hall of famer.
I am with you if he can solidify a spot it helps. They have no choice but to ride it out as cant imagine he has any value at all. Less a 3rd rd pic or what not. - hello it's me 2050
I don’t think they’ve ruined him ….he’s been better this year. His over all game is improving. Sometimes it takes a while for a kid to put it all together. I’m still not sure where he top’s out, but he, at least, is starting to trend the right way. |

"Sedlak bring some physicality, blocks shots, heavy on the puck, versatility to play C or W. Plays limited minutes at the NHL level (pretty much strictly a 4th liner) but Tortorella dressed him fairly regularly and Shaw mixed him in PK rotation at times."
Bill shinning up the new turd. Tanner is done is my guess. |

I do not think they have as well. It is a false narrative on other flyers boards. Nothing is on frost. Never his fault.

Funny, I read all the Zac hate. I see a player that works his nuts off. He has been a decent point producer at all other levels. I see a coach that’s throwing him a bone and saying let’s see if there’s more then a 4th line tough guy in there? I’m obviously sceptical as well but you can’t fault the effort. With his increased ice time last night that might say more about the guys he took ice time away from. |

It's obvious Zac hustles out there. I see it as the coach saying, this is how you get ice time to the Alisons, Laszcynski's and Frosts on the team.

They were playing on the road in a back to back after a big win in Tampa, where I felt the Flyers were also outplayed. Let's face it, the Flyers are what they are. They do not have the straight line speed nor skill to compete with teams like Tampa, Florida or any of the good to top teams in the league. The only way the Flyers beat this team is if they stay disciplined in their structure, get great goal tending, and the opposing team has an off night.
In the end, I want the Flyers to end up with a legitimate shot at a top 3 pick in this draft, but I also do not want this year to be a wasted year and it will not be if 1. Torts succeeds in laying the foundation for a new culture on this team and 2. the organization determines which younger players to continue to invest in and which ones to jettison. This is at least my definition of a successful year. - jd250
My successful year….Flyers have 4-5 young guys establish them selves as legit NHL players, they begin to integrate some of the young d into the lineup in the new year. The goaltending becomes the backbone of the team with all 3 of Hart, Sandstrom and Errson playing well.
Guys like Farabee and Konecny become the teams top scoring threats. Coots gets his back figured out and returns to health. But alas they miss out on the playoffs despite’s being a somewhat entertaining team to watch have at least not made me sit through another ridiculous year. We are then awarded the top puck in the draft as the ping pong balls fall our way disappointing the Coyotes and Kraken, but giving the Flyers the best young guy to come along since McDavid. That to me would be a successful year. |

Frost needs to continue to wear his big boy pants this year. He’s being given EVERY opportunity to succeed. It’s now on him. He’s not a 19 year old rookie anymore. |

Again as it has been said numerous times. Who cares if he works his ass off as at the end of the day he adds no value. He makes himself look busy by "working his ass off".
He has zero offensive skill at the NHL. I do not need throw him a bone to see if more there; there isn't imo.
Tired of the old he was born to be a flyer because he "works" hard. That mantra is why they haven't won a cup in 50 years.

Did you see the Tort video when he was talking to Laszcynski? I think Laszcynski is the odd man out. Torts doesn't know if Laszcynski is a hitter or a scorer.

It’s not just a “born to be a Flyer” thing. Effort is rewarded in Tort’s coaching philosophy. Again I’m not going to fault the coach after watching so many more deserving players, talent wise, mail in games like they did the last couple of years.
As far as the 48 year drought we could go back and analyze all the different years where the talent and opportunity was there, but they still fell short.
I’m FULLY agreeing that a team playing Zac that much has little chance of winning. But a team where by its best players have THAT effort every night will win a hell of lot more games then they lose. That’s what the new coaching staff is trying to institute. |

Were was it said he was brought in to boost the offense scoring? He is fourth line player plying his role. The hustle that you dismiss is what Torts want out of his players. |

They have no one who is a sure stone cold building block. These younger players are not anything special in any way. Nice solid pieces is all. Maybe Hart is one block though will see how it plays out. - hello it's me 2050
They do not have an elite talent that you build around that is for sure, but the Flyers have some good pieces. I contend that if you inject a Crosby type talent into this current group of players, and augment the roster with more speed, this can be a very, very good team quickly, within a couple of seasons. That is why THIS draft is SO important. The Flyers really cannot afford to be picking 14th again, they need to get an elite talent because I believe they have some good complimentary pieces already in place. |
