Many times those stats show that some aren't seeing what they think they're seeing. They show factually what happens on the ice. - MJL

Chuck passes on all the young guys.
But when an almost 30-yo hits the waiver wire, he just can't resist.

His contract is bigger, but I wish they had claimed Martinook instead. At least he's a good player. |

Flyers claimed Lukas Sedlak - NC Flyers Fan
I'm not very familiar with him other than what I've just read on elite prospects and TSN. Is he mainly an AHL roster player? I see he plays center and has 15 goals in 165 NHL games.
Just basically call up material and center depth?
Edited to add: I guess he needs to be on the NHL roster for 30 days after the claim so I guess he will be an extra forward.... |

He played for Torts for three seasons, 4th-line energy/defensive guy. |

Ahh ok, Torts has some familiarity with him so that makes some sense.

Guessing Tanner will be the odd man out, based on how Torts has been talking about him lately.

We were just talking about Vilardi during the summer as a potential odd man out in LA. I don't think he was actually ever waived.

I thought I saw his name on the waiver list prior to season starting, only reason why I mentioned him.

I can't believe that nine years on, we are still sending out a Rosehill-Hall-Ronaldo style 4th line |

Speaks volumes to all the AHL vets Chuck signed. Now that they are 3-0 need some more vet presence.
All these years later and they still cant or wont form a solid 4th line instead of the archaic stereotype. Overpaid Free agent and waiver claims.
Play the "kids". So it has been said.

$1.75m for four years on a 4th liner your coach only gave 6 minutes in a game where he was missing three top 9 forwards and last season's 4C.
Chuck Fletcher and horrendous free agent contracts - name a more iconic duo. |

Everyone sees it different, but throughout the years when the Flyers keep picking up "vets" that tells me the players they have they don't trust or aren't good enough.
I'm fine with that, but stop re-signing these guys if they are not NHL capable. It feels like they re-sign these guys knowing they will only be Phantoms and are doing them a favor.
Can anyone tell me the point of having Adam Brooks, Cooper Marody or Max Willman under contract? |

Agree to a big extent. Sad and comical really that cant even draft and or develop in this area. Hell not even any more PEB or Raffle anymore. That being said let the Tanners and Cates Sr play to figure it out.
What does this guy have that Marody, Brooks, and the like don't? Garbage in garbage out. |
