Lafferty and D!ckinson to Arizona for Schmaltz. - Dieselhead
Throw in Domi too, the bum scored in OT. |

Totally. Kurashev has been a stud too, best #23 in Chicago history. - DarthKane
Umm, not quite, but I’ve been a fan since he came up. |

Richardson is probably in KD’s hot seat right now. KD is probably on the phone to Colliton to see if he could be in Chicago by Sunday’s game. |

This team definitely lacks talent, but they are entertaining. - LAHawk
They're definitely watchable, which is a big improvement over last year. |

I’m surprised that there wasn’t more interest in Domi this past off season. I’m going to assume that there was lack of interest, since he ended up signing with the Hawks. |

Not a lot of teams had cap room, and the Hawks gave him $3 million. Plus he's reunited with Richardson, under whom he had his best production in Montreal. |

This team is playing with structure and a work ethic as well. They are setting a precedent how future Hawks teams are going to play. Yes, it’s too early to get crazy excited, but at least this team shows up and doesn’t quit. |

LOL
Agree.
They may have the 2nd or 3rd worst record by year end. But they are watchable. They are playing an NHL version of hockey. After 3 years of Colliton that is a nice change. You don’t want to gouge your eyes out when watching them.
Of course wins against the lowly Sharks and Wings should temper our enthusiasm. |

Wings aren't great but they also aren't as bad as the Sharks.
Edit - Not saying this team's going anywhere but at least watchable as you mentioned. |

9 goals in 2 games, 3 short handed, impressive. On paper this team shouldn't be anywhere as good as last year's, but i really do like their brand of hockey. It's refreshing to see 2, 3 forwards in front of the net sometimes. They may not be very good but these guys do seem to put a lot of effort in playing 200 feet of hockey. More so than last years team. |

They are supposed to have a packed farm system at this point so better days are likely ahead.
He's what, 3 years into the rebuild? For all the Yzerlove and accolades thrown his way, shouldn't his team be on track to win a Cup this year and not losing to a team loaded with bottom 6'ers? |

I don't think we consider them back until they bring in their drafted goalie, the two high end defenders and more scoring but they certainly will make noice especially with that big boy line with rookie Elmer.
The goaltending is mid league, and it is not like they didn't pay well enough to win, but the puck bobble in OT by by superswede wing Lucas Raymond.
The wing certainly have organizational upside, with theirs arriving sooner than most of ours (Reichel, Korchinski and the wounded Frankie Nazar & concussed Ludzinski our only young up n comers)
If Kaner decides to go seek a 3rd Cup, they will have to win games with this core, or they are going to be hard pressed winning except with lots of work, and that will win some, but... |

It’s like the whole team took Hockey 101 over the summer. (Well almost the whole team.) |

Was of course being mostly facetious, but I still find it odd that Yzerman was a big buyer in FA this past year.
People would've re-roasted the charred remains of Stanbo if he had been the architect of some of those deals...specifically Chiarot and Copp. |

You? C'mon man......
I agree that there's pressure on Stevie to show a little something in year four.
And that this august board will be going wild if year three of the KD rebuild looks like year three of the Wing rebuild did

Hoping Kane decides to say he’s willing to move… love the guy one of the best all time… it makes me Ill watching him waste away in the Indianhead… I’d love to see Richardson just play toews and Kane together every night until it’s over - bigfly46
Kane is a little pouty female dog and it's time to move his whiny ass. |

You're exactly right. If the next batch of Hawks players with more talent play this way they could have a good team again. |

It's nice seeing Toews playing better too. He's been better than pouty Kane by quite a bit. |

Mrazek’ s injury doesn’t help the tank.
I’d rather keep Soderblom in Rockford. Maybe Kyle can acquire a depth netminder for a late round pick (if Mrazek is out for a while). |

Hmm, so a competent HC can move the needle with a full training camp.
Hard work, structure and resilience can win games against the bottom 16 of the NHL.
BOS leading MIN 2-1 in the 1st on the NHL Network. MAF has an 81% save percentage so far this season. Yes, he’s in the Wild’s net. |
