apparently Xhekaj's goal was the first one by a dman for the habs this year, I'm sure St-Louis will try to get a bit more offensive output from that d-core, although they might not currently have the personnel for that.

I'm sure you need that to score 60 goals

I get what you're saying, and of course Matthews has to put in the effort to get those kind of results. just saying that they seem to be lacking something attitude-wise in order to reach that other level, and having guys like that on your team can help a lot in developing that.

Yeah they lack a quality bottom 6 that can contribute in both ends of the rink

well they won again today...

how are you feeling about their season so far? I think they've had a pattern of having slow starts for a while now, so I guess it shouldn't be too concerning for the regular season.

At least we're still trying until the end ... last year we would have packed our gear after being down 2 goals.

As I said earlier, too many turnovers and the Stars made us pay.

Learning night for the kids.

They have mastered the regular season win.

This was their best game of the season. Very solid 60 minutes. Otherwise, it's been underwhelming. Sloppy and too many slow starts causing them to chase game more often than not

I felt like after the WiFi goal, they had the game momentum... but then....

Also, 18 seconds into a period and 16 seconds left in a period, those are not goals you can allow, let alone int he same period.

Leafs to me are the modern day San Jose sharks. Always have a stellar reg season but just won’t get over the hump in the playoffs. I’d be concerned about their goaltending when they have to play tampa in a 7 game series.

Until Mattheson comes back, not sure they even really have an offensive minded d-man in the line-up. I think Harris, who has flown under the radar this year, has been the Habs best / most consistent defender so far.

But the Guhle / Harris / WiFi group has surprised me... this is a really good sign and fun to watch..

I almost feel that they could benefit from having a sub-par regular season and getting in the playoffs with lower expectations.
