Dunno that is necessarily automatic that 19 and 88 walk - but this then becomes buy-in with Richardson.
Look, I doubt anyone is claiming this is a playoff team -but players want to play meaningful hockey. So what if they give up way too many odd-man rushes?
They've basically been in every game but the first one. That's a lot better than last season -which I don't even know why that guy JC was even coaching -I guess technically he wasn't. - SC116
I saw the game yesterday in person. I think this team will be above .500 against the bottom 20 NHL teams, and play the top 10 competitively. That said, here are a few thoughts:
Kane, Domi & AA get trapped in their own zone. A lot. AA is a black hole where passes go to disappear. Kane and Domi need a big, strong 200 foot LW who can help them exit and go get pucks in the O zone. No one like that on the roster, so how about flipping AA & Kurashev?
Richardinson has a heck of a wrist shot, and is good in all 3 zones, a heck of a find by KD.
A healthy Tyler Johnson is still a really good hockey player. He and Toews play well together.
Stalock is interesting. He was outstanding on shots from all over the ice, but he lost his net twice because of his aggressiveness. The 3rd goal was unforgivable. He's got more upside than Mrazek.
Roos is very calm with the puck, and looks to make plays rather than throw it away like a hand grenade when pressured.
Lafferty has a Shaw like motor.
I had hope for Entwistle, but he's a half step slow on every play. Hopefully he figures it out, but I think he'll be passed by others in the system.

All of his mock drafts have Chicago #1 pick being Bedard. He even includes links to those mock drafts - powerenforcer
He hasn't changed the top of the draft order in the last 20 (at least) updates. He's just moving around where the players are drafted. Eye on the prize PE. |

This was last years opening roster. I would argue that this year's tank roster is not that much worse than last years "playoffs" roster.

Alex DeBrincat

2022 opening night:

Richardson
Players:
Domi
Athanaseu
Lafferty
Richard inson
Raddysh

Roos
J.Johnson
Also figure in the (so far) internal improvement of Kurashev, T. Johnson (healthy?) Khaira (slotted correctly?).
They still will get a top 5 pick (Arizona, San Jose, and Anaheim) are just as weak as the Hawks, and the eastern colference top to bottom is way stronger than the west.

The guy has a .938 save percentage so far (only 81 shots but still). I will forgive him for one "bad goal". That said, I have called him the new Mike Palmateer. he is going to give the fans heart palpitations when he plays

I never thought they would win 3 games in a row
Last year 14 games to win 3
5 games to win 3
If the other guys keep scoring goals, then anything is possible this year. - BetweenTheDots
Don't get suckered Dots. Wait at least until about game 30 to form any sort of hope. Lots of teams can have a good ten games.

Theoretically less goal scoring, but the D is cleaner (probably due to players AND coach). The talent level will keep them from being a real playoff threat, but again, at least they aren't maddening to watch. |

Yup, I think the 1st goal goes in no matter what he does. Good call back to Palmateer. The strange thing is he's really composed and quiet on shots, but he's really aggressive on passes across the slot.

How you going to do that. At the end of the day, Tampa will be one of the 12 best teams, Kane is only going to go to a Cup contender, so only pick the Hawks will have in the top 20 is their own. - LAHawk
If you get a lot of picks they could try trade up. C'mon you seem to know everything. Why couldn't you think of this? |

i thought Raddysh looked good with Johnson and Toews. I think AA might be better helping Richardinson and Lafferty create havoc with his speed. |

Raddish is $750K for this year and next. I really like his game. But since his contract is so cheap, if they could get a Hagel return for him, i am all for it.

Their play has been a pleasant surprise. I like their structure, size, effort, I'm expecting a top 5 pick but the men in that locker room may have other plans.

I believe there was a change lottery rules. It makes much more unlikely going from first to last in best percentage to win lottery to the last lottery pick
If we play too well we won t be in lottery. A top ten pick is where our next #1 line FORWARD should come from |
