Hey, you are starting to piss me off, I am supposed to be the most negative long-suffering fan.đ - Reubenkincade
Could be worse, we could be the Coyotes... Oh right, we're now lower in the standings then they are and the only reason we're ahead of San Jose is because they played one more game then us. |

Typical Bruce Boudreau, playing his top offensive forward, almost the same as he plays his top defensemen.

Wait I thought being last is a positive to get Bedard?
But that too will be lost. You know they will screw up the standings and start winning when itâs too late. |

Team will look great leading up to the TDL... that you can count on. Hot streaks and wins.

The stealth tank that's not a tank but ends up a tank and then end up just mediocre interspersed with just enough to make you hope. The Canucks history in a nutshell, and we're partying like it's 1999 and JT Miller is Messier 2.0 and JR and PA are Pat Quinn (before he was fired as Pres/GM) and Mike Keenan who replaced him |

Being a fan of the Canucks for 52 seasons, sure has been a struggle.
As much as I want my team to win, I have zero confidence in this group, to do that.
Maybe I am an old-school type, but your stars still have to be somewhat aggressive, not pansies like this team plays like.
Also, I don't think analytics are working, as they have very little impact on the game.

Demko has sucked too, he doesnât get a free pass, I cringe everytime a shot is taken towards him. |

No one gets a free pass, other than Burroughs and maybe Schenn.
Good on Schenn for calling out the biggest problem in the dressing room, hopefully he is calling out the rest of the pansies and backing up Garland and Burroughs. |

Apparently, someone didn't like being shown up on national TV. A bit of a fight in the dressing room between the cliques. |

#9 should be thrown on ice almost every game.
How do you dump those contracts, other than taking the Pacioretty dump |

Quotes from Rutherford:
âWe donât have time to list (all the problems),â Rutherford said. âWe have a lot of bad habits. We know we need to improve the defence but itâs not that easy. We donât play fantasy hockey. Iâm the same as the fans. Frustrated and itâs hard to watch, but we canât make a panic move.
âWe may very well be in a rebuild in the direction weâre going. Ideally, weâd like to transition this team on the fly.â
âWhen you have injuries, you've got to have next man up and have to be ready to go. I believe if our team has a really strong structure, you can play through those things," Rutherford said. "When you start talking about injuries, youâre admitting youâre a losing team. I donât like it. I donât like using that as an excuse. We all have to be better. We have to use the players weâve got and we have to play within a stronger structure to make that game easier.â
Looks like Bouds will be gone. Hopefully they'll jettison Miller and Brock and find a partner for OEL at some point |

Holy crap. Does this sound familiar?

Seem to remember the theme being retool on the fly with Benning's start.

I don't even really understand how the Miller signing came to be. He knows they tried to trade him for months. Then they realize interest for him and what GM's think he's worth is much lower than they had hoped for. This must also be worrisome for Miller who is going to be potentially testing that market as a UFA. Then his agent has great news for him that he doesn't need to worry any longer. $8m until you retire.
Meanwhile, Canucks management show the league they believe he is worth it with that fat contract. Suck it doubters.
Now that Miller has his guaranteed money, he's probably going to be sucky b!tch until the club finds him a new home somewhere not in Canada.... which will probably cost them an asset.

Ya, but I think context is key. Benning came in with an older team with little to no young players. Ruthy came in with a younger team that projects to be on the bubble (a teams that's punctuated with some older and bloated contracts).
We all know that this team should have been rebuilt during JBs time, but it wasn't, and they've mired in mediocrity for far too long.
I think a nice retool would have been flipping Miller and even Brock, and going forward from there with cap space and picks/players. But oh well. |

Yup. Another 6 or 7 years, no rush., patience is the key. |

Well Ruthford said rebuild is on the table. So that means they could trade those players and others as well. |

I'm still hoping they realize/can trade JTM this TDL.
There were a few of us hitting that drum last TDL when the return was probably higher... but getting some picks/prospects and the cap room going forward is important |
