Again, it's managements inability to act. - VanHockeyGuy
Also true which is again why I wanted Garland/Pearson gone this summer for help on D. This roster shown it could score last season so I understand why Rutherford didn't change alot in the top 9. But IMO we could easily operate without Garland and Pearson plus it frees up so much cap. You can bet gunslinger JR is working the phones today. |

Integrating Mikheyev, Lazar, Kuz, Aman, Joshua have been more difficult that it appears. The lines are still off too. - LordHumungous
Added player attributes that were supposed to help the team but hasn't added to team chemistry yet. |

I think they tried....but no one wants our junk on bloated contracts unless sending the same thing back to us

I'm not saying we have to as I'm sure Rutherford will address it if this crap continues. First, solve the issues we have and move on. It's one game at a time this club can score. Just need to defend for 60 mins. - LordHumungous

lol huge mistake letting that guy go. Imagine having Motte here instead of Lazar. Spend 4 years in development just to say see ya later.

It’s pretty tough for a player or a team to eat that kind of crow. Once he figured out that nobody was going to give him $2m or whatever he was looking for, coming back to Van wasn’t really an option. |

Soft AF. Leadership. 60 min Hockey.
Pretty basic.
Bruce can't skate for the players.
Bo and Miller are pro's and know what's needed to get things done.
If there is a divide that some claim then solve it and move on.
Bruce can't 'make' this club play a 60 min game...they have to start it on their own.
Pretty sure they are realizing fast 3 periods of Hockey are needed lol. - LordHumungous
Last year the starts we’re awefull, this year so far it’s the third periods. |

I'm sure getting a Messier vibe from the Miller situation. Divide in the room, players showing it on the ice, no accountability, coach favoritism, regrettable fat contract(but longer)... |

Then changing the coach might be quicker then trying to trade JTM.
Besides the JTM focus there is a lot more wrong with the team. The play with structure is missing. |

Then why does the idiot coach keep playing Miller, more than any other forward.
The guy is -6 and a disaster out there.

Do you have a solution other that hire a Sutter? Which Sutter the retired one or the calgary coach? Who is replacing our president and our GM? How many 1st round picks do you want to add to offload our bad contracts? |

Some of JR's comments last night are not very honest.
About Bruce...
“It was my understanding that he was going to get a contract for just last year. He got a contract really for two years, and so he’s still got his contract. It wasn’t that we extended him one year, it was that we just lived by the contract he had,”
Hold on a minute. You guys had the option on his 2nd year. You activated it. You had an off ramp if you wanted... which you didnt. It wasn't just a case of honoring the contract he had.
Then he talks about defense injuries...
“We tried to address it in the summertime, and in fairness to our defence, we’ve had injuries there. We haven’t played with our full defence. We know we have to improve it,” Rutherford said. “But when we talk about defence, it’s not just the guys that play defence. It’s a team defence, and those guys aren’t getting enough support.”
Followed up later with comments how you can't use injuries as excuses... after he just used it as one of his excuses..
“When you start talking about injuries, you’re just making it easier. You’re admitting you’re a losing team. I don’t like it, I don’t like using that as an excuse. We all have to be better. We have to use the players we got and we have to play within a stronger structure to make that game easier for all our players.”
About contracts being in the way of improvements...
“I know that there were some defencemen moved this summer. But it’s not that easy. We don’t play fantasy hockey, we got a cap to deal with,” Rutherford said.
“We’ve got contracts that maybe we’d like to move that we can’t move, your hands kind of get tied a little bit. But we’re well aware that that’s an area that we need to improve.”
Does he not see that the Miller and or Boeser contracts that they handed out are exactly the kind of contracts he's using for an excuse?
I said before he talks in circles back when people were calling it refreshing. |

Is that a different top 9 that was supposed to be one of the best in the west? Maybe Bruce wants to be known for his great top 12?

Deja Vu...
Last season Green played Quinn Hughes the most minutes in the NHL by game 4... then he was injured.
This season Bruce is playing him 27min and by game 5, injured.
