I'd put him in the same tier as Brind'Amour and Damphousse. I think both of them are pretty good benchmarks for the Hall. If you had a better career than they did, you should be in, but no one's all that upset that they're not.
The streak is kind of a big deal. If he can keep it going for 2-3 more years and get at least 1,100 points, he should be in. - Squeaky
you put PHIL KESSEL in the same category as Rod Brind'amour and Vinnie Damphousse? REally???

Besides being a winger, he's had a pretty similar career. All three of them had similar amounts of success and were never the best players on their teams. Well, Kessel was the best player on a bad Toronto team so we won't count that.

Not really. Damphouse, you can maybe make a case for.
But Brind'amour? no, not close. Brind'amour is a LOCK of a HOFer. He was in the top 50 all time NHL scorers when he retired, and was one of the best two way players in the league at that time.
also, he WAS the best player on Carolina for many years. |

He's obviously not a lock if he isn't in yet. He's been eligible since 2013. He'll probably get in if he wins a Cup as a coach. |

guess Kessel is screwed then, because Rod Brind'amour gets in light years ahead of him.
He should, and It hink will get in. Kessel will not. |

As I said, that's probably where Kessel ends up unless he gets the streak to a ridiculous number.

Does Mike Hoffman have a shot at the Hall of Fame? Premier power forward. If Shanahan is in then Hoffman has an outside chance.
Also if someone adds Jake Allen for a 1st and he wins the Cup, then you gotta think about it.

But, uhh, KESSEL IS BETTERZZZZZ
goodness, I think he might be overrating someone other than Toews here.
It's quite clear he's got an irrationable, pretty much insane, hate-on for Toews though. - prock
I don't have irrational hate for Toews at all. I very much wish PIT drafted him instead of Staal. Toews would have been the best 3C in the league. |

yeah, i'm sure Chicago would have liked Letang for their 3rd pairing too. maybe they could have traded?
Amazing Chicago managed to win just as many cups as Pittsburgh with that 3rd liner Toews as number 1 C. |

Olli Jokinen would have to be the first GIF HOFer.
- TurdFergeson
Olli Jokinen can run the hot dog stand in the meme section of the HHOF. Only way he gets into the non-Finnish HOF |

Mogilny absolutely belongs in the HOF. It's insane he's not in.
point per game scorer, almost 500 goals, 76 goal season, and the first player to defect to the NHL. No question. |

I find it amazing that the supposedly great leader J. Toews isn't even the best player with his retarded last name. |

Kessel and Marleau live in the house of great, not the HOF. Similar careers outside of the team awards. Guys who could skate and play beyond their expiration date while being classy doing so. - AdamFrench
There's no way Marleau doesn't get in. He's played more games than anyone else and 550+ goals make him a lock, especially since he scored a lot of those goals in the no-offense period of the league. |

And yet, in hockey history, he'll be the best Toews there ever was. I mean, come on, the guy was competing for best player in the NHL at one point.
AS we all know, top 100 player all time. |

Marleau is a compiler, and while he certainly has the point totals, it's questionable even he gets in. |

He has the most games played. That's something that should and will be celebrated. The Sharks also have zero Hall of Famers in their history. He's getting in.

Kessel gets in only if it's a weak class.
He's only hit 90+ points once. He is at 399 goals, should hit 400 this year. He's only surpassed 80 points twice.
Iron man and 2 cups to his name and while I feel he was robbed of the Conn Smythe, not actually winning it goes against him for the votes. |
