I would imagine that Mitchell would be close to getting back to practice again soon as well. He was reported to be out for six weeks on September 22. It will be interesting to see how/if they get him into games in the NHL.

Looks like an exchange of players needing some fresh scenery. Beaudin going back home to Quebec. Hillis just a guy to fill out the Rockford or Indianapolis roster.

Maybe Mitchell slated for Rockford for a while. Hence the Beaudin trade to lessen the logjam of defensemen there. I don't see any call ups of the younger d-men unless there's a significant injury to the current crop of Chicago blue liners.

I believe Beaudin was chosen with the pick received from the Hartman trade. So there are no remaining pieces from that trade.

BTW, Bovquist has been a healthy scratch the last 4 games. Might get in the line-up next game due to an injury to one of the Blue Jacket's defenseman.

It sounds like Ian Mitchell is getting his wrist brace off today, so his return to practice is nearing.

It’s a crowded blue line in Rockford, and the Nicolas Beaudin trade opens up a roster spot, even though he was a healthy scratch last game. #Blackhawks

It's weird watching this team, expecting them to suck and they don't.

I for one think the Oil are soft so really curious to see that game, and how it unfolds.

Listened to the talking heads on NHL Network the other day talk about the Oilers. Didn't have much to say good about their D, and especially mentioned that they miss Keith and Nurse hasn't become what they hoped for.

Hawks fall behind 3-1 in the 1st and win 6-5 in OT.

Rockford has traded Riley McKay to Laval, Montreal’s AHL affiliate, for future considerations.

So Beaudin and McKay are both Quebec-bound, and both really just to help them out. McKay was Kirby Dach’s WHL teammate/buddy and they’re now reunited. He’d been in the ECHL.

Just watched the Tyler Johnson injury. How does a skater as good as Barkov just collapse and bridge a guy along the boards? Is the ice at the UC that bad? Small piece of white stick tape on the ice? Bettman?

Nope, Kurashev was part of the deal as a pick.

Knowing what I know today, I still say that trade was fine for the Hawks. Hartman had one good outlier season, but no big loss for the Hawks.
