From what I understand (aside from Bedard) if you were to tank, this would be the year.

Ok, this post triggered me. Primarily the part where the author calls Demko an elite goaltender. This fanbase is (frank)ed. The reason everyone is shocked we suck is because our core is outrageously overrated. Get over But Bubble Demko. Get over rookie Elias who looked like a 60 goal scorer. Move on from rookie Brock. Demko is an average goaltender. Quinn is certainly not a #1 D. Way too many holes in his game. Its not all about 2nd assists and PP points. Elias is not a #1 center. Hell I’m still not convinced he is even a center.

BTW Hughes is #1 in the league for completed passes last season but over 300 passes(over Hedman) he was tops on the league for carries out of the d zone, and topped many other important stats. His defense was also not bad last season in general. Hughes is the definition of elite and considered top 10 defender in the league.

JR did say rebuilds do take a few years last week. They are icing a D of Stillman Schenn Burroughs Brisebois Rathbone with forwards Lockwood Joshua Pizza, I am not going to make an issue of it but in my mind, I think they have made the decision and are going to do it properly and lose right from the get-go.

Fans love winning but almost as much they love a good draft. Give the fans what they want one way or the other.

If you want high draft picks then you can't complain about losing.

I doubt JTM & agent was sold and signed contract based on tearing it down and rebuilding. This will become more of a disaster before it becomes a rebuild.

TLinden was right years ago. Imagine where we could be. Much better position I bet and with some draft lottery luck (I know it's not in our DNA) we could be on a good upswing by now even. I say bring him back and let him do what he wanted before.

Doing anything to salvage just draws out the pain even more than it already has been. The pain is here, accept it, let it happen proper for once.

The draft is strong and bottoming out would be good. 4 or 5 1C's in this draft, I could see maybe 2.

Maybe 1 of them would be Petey at center than Petey has been.

Team was going to get better with a new coach. For a while they did but it didn't last.

Team was going to be better with new management group. It hasn't.

Maybe, possibly but really no such guarantee.

I am all for getting a high pick in this draft and selling some players but one wrong step in a complete tear down could potentially add another 5 years of rebuilding

Frankie Corrado was on that's Hockey last night slamming the club kind of the way Hansen did. Corrado said he spent 4 years in the organization with no real direction lol. And this coming from a tweener that Leafs fans had as an Olympian. But Corrado did praise the club under Boudreau last season so there is that too. Just funny how there was so much praise for the play of the club under Boudreau last year to MSM just all over this topic. Well if the fans speak with their dollars and want the full teardown they better be ready to take the swings. Because unless Rutherford gets free reign from Aquilini it will be a process that many fans won't be happy with. Not that they are anyways.

Bringing in 5 new forwards knowing we needed D help was a bit odd. Guess they thought the mix was there but we looked way better with Motte D!ckenson Highmore Lammiko than we ever have with Kuz,Lazar,Joshua and Aman plus Mikheyev.
