Quite amusing how bi-polar the BOD is either lamenting that the Hawks lost because of a lack of talent (Stalock, why was C. Jones/Blackwell out there with Toews in the final minutes., etc., or lamenting the Hawks currently appear to not be the dumpster fire that was advertised to possibly not getting a top 3 pick.

I said amused not worrying. After seeing how the first part of the season goes, IMO the Hawks no matter what happens at the deadline will not pick in the top 3. You don't think the Yotes, Sharks, Canucks, Ducks, and probably the Blue Jackets, Kracken, Canadiens aren't going to be dumping players at the TDL also ?

BTW, when both Toews and Kane score in a game there is a high percentage of them winning the game. I don't know the exact numbers. Last night was the rare occurrence when it didn't happen.

Looks like Toews has found the fountain of youth. Being completely healthy has a lot to do with it I suppose. So has he bought into the rebuild, wants to stay in Chicago and playing his ass off to show the organization he is worth a new contract? Or playing well in the hopes that some contending team wants him at the TDL? How long can he keep up the pace? I can see him stayng around and extending.

It is time for Caleb Jones to be placed on waivers. McCabe screwed up on the McDavid goal. He should have stayed between McDavid and Stalock. McDavid has to be the most exciting player since Dennis Savard in the 80's.

Yup, but the Captain with the puck on his stick was the one who made the mistake. Was he out there cause Richardson knew he would make a bonehead play?

Will Domi be moved sooner rather than later? He can be had for 1.5M by a team needing an offensive shot in the arm that wants to turn around their season now or needs a center due to injury. For example, Ottawa's Josh Norris may be out for the season.

The start is a mirage. I like they play hard and don't get shoved all over the ice but all the metrics show a team punching above his weight class riding a high PDO which will regress.
Plus, playing Seth Jones 26 minutes a night will get the tank rolling. Hawks have given up 23 goals and Jones has been on the ice for at least 14 of them.

Have no idea where we will end up? KD did build a team that competes hard. Coach keeps it simple. Stalock let in a couple softies. We have an identity now. No longer "small but slow."

Edm scored 6 goals and a Jones was on the ice for 5 of them. Seth Jones is getting pulverized out there. Its a very small sample for sure but a guy making 9.5M rocking a sub 40% CF is not good.


Fine by me cause he is perfect for what they want out of this season but its another hole that will be need to filled in the draft going forward.

BOD favorite Murphy? LA Hawk favorite McCabe (takes over my Kubalik obsession) Tinordi? Not like Richardson can rely upon Stapleton/White or Oduya/Hjarmelsson out there.

Sens lost Norris for quite a bit of time if not the whole season. Hawks have one slightly used Domi for a 2nd or 4rd round pick

Jones plays the most he's going to be on the ice for many goals. Two of McD's goals were on the goalie. You're beating a dead horse.

Murphy should be out there before bums like Tinordi, JJ and especially Caleb Jones since he better than all 3 of those clowns. Heck, even McCabe /Murphy is a better option than the Jones brothers anywhere near their own zone.

Again, it was perfect for the tank so I applaud the move. Both should be paired together for 25 minutes a night this season.

Breaking a foot while benched that is injury prone.

Maybe he shouldn't play so much then. There is a thought. He is just plain terrible in his own zone.
