Thought I heard last night the Islanders never scored 6 against the Canes before. Still early and team still has challenges but it's nice to see the team not being afraid to play offense.

Getting back to Bellows. Why didn't they send Shosnikov down instead? The only reason I can think of is they maybe wanted Bellows to get some ice time? I'm sure Shosnikov would have cleared and if he didn't who cares. Any thoughts?

100% correct it is early. However, the positive here is seeing them bounce back beating two cup contenders and conference opponents that they will need to be successful in April and May.

If they find a way to win tonight, it neutralizes loses to Cats, Lighting, and Dev's. It would give them a 5-4 record and a game shy of my original prediction of 6-3.

Getting back to Bellows. Why didn't they send Shosnikov down instead? The only reason I can think of is they maybe wanted Bellows to get some ice time? I'm sure Shosnikov would have cleared and if he didn't who cares. Any thoughts?

I think he began to wear out his welcome with his failure of the drug test. If the guy had upside, he didn't manage to show it when given the opportunity. I think Wahlstrom has similar, but better skills.

I think Shosnikov is more of an unknown, and almost by definition may have more upside. He may have a better shot than Bellows. He apparently doesn't have the baggage of a failed drug test.

Agreed. He had a good season the year before with Bridgeport and never really regained his form after that.
