Couldn't afford to give up assets - Buff36
A 5th and a bottom tier prospect is a hefty price, I agree. 😩 |

Kale Clague was absolutely brutal in the preseason. Not looking forward to that. Why not let Pilut get settled in? I don't get it |

Bad decisions for bad reasons, we know.
This wave of prospects would fit in the lineup much better if the last wave of prospects solidified their roles instead of being WIP who may never get there. - Lunaion
Mitts is playing well IMO.
He will not be sat, his effort is exactly what this team is lacking at times.
He brings way more intensity and scoring abilities than the your current scratched guy. |

Interesting post, given the blog. Well played, if it was intentional.

Who is saying that, no one knows if he will work, but Jesus for a 5th it wouldn't have hurt to see if he could be a piece. It's not like he's 28 or 30, he just turned 25. This is a losing mentality and you ring the bell for the Sabres Boss - Buff36
I respect your opinion, but adding some guy and hoping it helps is not reality.
If I have a losing mentality for not wanting Ethan f bear, do you have a winning attitude for wanting him? 🤔
What if he comes in and plays terrible?
Wouldnt that hurt? The team?

Think it looks like cap floor next year too. If Dahlin extends, it wouldn't kick in until the following year.
If they go long term on Cozens and Asplund, might look a little different. Hope they do. - Lunaion
Long term on asplund 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
He's closer to clearing waivers ...... |

Yeah, if management does nothing then they can blame a losing streak on injuries, they don't have to do anything and they get to keep payroll down. It's a win-win-win

So he ends up being your 7th dman this year, he's a RFA at the end of the year, It either works out or it doesn't and it cost you a 5th and 1.9m to find out, that will break the Bank. Imagine taking that swing and he actually worked for a 5th. And the losing part comes from thinking that it would hurt to have given it a shot, like the Sabres are loaded at D. |

How long would it take ef bear to fit into our system and settle down? He's been a healthy scratch all season and hasnt played an nhl game since april.
Seriously, what you get for a 5th round NHL pick, should answer the above questions. With salary retained......
Wish they would trade a 2nd for someone good.
Joker and samuelsson should be back in a few weeks.
Maybe they are closer to ready? |

Sure, but they're not going to do that. They had a chance to get someone with at least some potential for a pack of melted gum and a couple dried out rubber bands |

"The losing part " is saying ef bear isnt good. Make a trade, just not for him.
He could actually be worse, and cost and asset and some points.
Seriously, how good can he be? Hes a healthy scratch picked up by the worst team in the league. And they held salary. These should all be warning signs that ethan is not the miracle worker you want him to be.
I'd trade for a good defenseman, with a real asset or 2.
This team does not need to trade assets for a band aid.
