This is true as far as 2004 is concerned. The Flyers were so battered on defense they had to play Sami Kapanen back on "D". Even with that the Flyers took them to 7 games and lost game seven 2-1. Another coulda shoulda woulda year that the Flyguys could have brought home the Cup. - Phillywhiteout
I think the 04 team was very close to getting it done. If desjardins wasn’t hurt, I think they would have gotten to the final and won. That game 7 loss was as hard to take as any. Knowing the lockout and cap was coming, it seemed like kind of a last run at winning it. |

And I have no idea how anybody could watch how the Panthers had a green light all over the Flyers zone and can still give Torts any credit for how Hart has played thusfar. - Tomahawk
Don't sit young players and piss on me and tell me it's raining and telling me that McEwen played well when shot attempts were 2-20 in favor of the Panthers when McEwen was on the ice.

That's a BS call - MJL
Doesn’t a high stick on the pp result in a faceoff all the way down to the opposing zone? Or did that rule change? |
|
|
|
For all his skill, it's always some trash like this he lets in once a game so far this season. |

It did. I was referring to the penalty call.

And every coach has those as well. Torts obviously has a much bigger dog house than others haha but he’s a good coach. To say otherwise is nonsense. - ClaudeFather
He's got a lot of good qualities, especially on the interpersonal stuff and his attention to detail.
But he's a blowhard, craves the limelight, acts like he walks on water, and he has a general aversion to change.
He and Brian Burke are really too alike. |

Competent PP - wcorvette
Yes. With Carolina pressuring hard at the beginning of it. I do notice that tda moves the puck very quickly and distributes the puck very crisply and accurately. Very good luck skills |

Second dumb ass penalty by Ristolainen in 4 periods of play. Is he going to sit? |

If that collision wasn't the most Flyers thing ever. |

Has there been a more non existent player than Travis Sanheim this year? |

Sanheim has played very well defensively. Doesn't have his offensive game going.

Panthers and Canes do what the Flyers cannot, use their sticks to control the puck and hold their zone. Definitely something our young players will improve on over the season. Difference in forward talent is immense, a bit better with the defense. |
