Sutter's system is dedicated to denying controlled zone entries and his teams consistently have strong metrics. I would bet most of Tortorella is an act. I'm sure he realizes goaltending is saving his ass.

I am so happy someone finally has the guts to say it because its absolutely true! Though some analytics are useful, most of them are trash, and real coaches and evaluators of players use their eyes and their guts as the primary source of their conclusions.

Some clueless Flyers fans. All Torotorella is doing is cutting off the analytics conversation. He's standing up for his players. Now he doesn't have to answer the question or defend his over usage of players like McEwen when he's on the ice for 2 shots for and 20 shot attempts against in a game.

So far he’s pushing the right buttons. A coach needs to have the team believe in themselves, let’s see how far this goes.

Spot on. It is funny to see folks get their panties in a bunch and call him things like a pos simply cause he is defending his team who currently sit 2nd in the conference. His roster is garbage right now and if folks actually watch the games as opposed to just paying attention to stats they would know that their goaltending has been good, but there have been bad goals, especially early on in games. There is room for improvement there.

Like Torts or not, I can say off the ice he is an outstanding human being. Folks here should do a little research on his family then maybe report back to the rest of us with their public apology.
