Spot on. It is funny to see folks get their panties in a bunch and call him things like a pos simply cause he is defending his team who currently sit 2nd in the conference. His roster is garbage right now and if folks actually watch the games as opposed to just paying attention to stats they would know that their goaltending has been good, but there have been bad goals, especially early on in games. There is room for improvement there.
Like Torts or not, I can say off the ice he is an outstanding human being. Folks here should do a little research on his family then maybe report back to the rest of us with their public apology.
That’s is all. - Joe Nardone
Do you think that an informed eye, someone who knows what they're watching sees something different than the stats show?

Johnny torts is always for one thing. The goalie if he can get the most out of a goalie and make it a winner (not to say carter hart is not without talent) He will ride that goalie until it dies!!!!

Not scoring and taking stupid penalties that cost his team for 12M? Yikes. Cole Caufield has already surpassed him as a better goal scorer. Homeboy looks like he's already checked out for AZ or Californi-yay
ME: How’s this for analytics Torts? I analyzed the point totals of the #1 and #2 all time point leaders in every professional sport in the world. The 936 point differential between Wayne Gretzky and Jaromir Jagr is the greatest points differential between #1 and #2 point scorer in any professional sport in the world. I found the point disparity between the #1 and #2 point scorers of every professional sport in the world, then found the percentage of disparity between them based on the average career point total for each respective sport. The differential average between Jagr and Gretzky was the greatest that I was able to find. By my model, this technically makes Wayne Gretzky the greatest professional athlete in recorded human history by a landslide. Taking it further, this means professional hockey players are inarguably the greatest athletes on the face of the planet. And taking a bit further, a human being who was able to coach a team which had to triumph over the greatest athletes on the face of the planet in order to win a Stanley Cup, would be by default, one of the greatest coaches in recorded human history. Which you did with Tampa in 2004, Torts. Change your mind at all about analytics, John?
analytics, at best, are a self fulfilling prophecy. stats that are important are wins/losses. +/-, points, blocked shots, turnovers, hits, faceoffs. no data can capture effort, effort, inspiring the team, etc.

Looking at literally any type of stats can be called analytics.
