Are the Habs playing better than expected? Perhaps... or are teams that should be kicking their ass sucking hard out of the gate?

Other than perhaps the Bruins, the rest of the East is pretty even about now.

Things will settle down soon, I suspect.

EDIT: The difference between 2nd and 14th is 2 points. lol.

well a lot of fans were expecting something similar to last year, so yeah generally speaking I'd say they're currently surpassing expectations, but you're right that a lot of teams that are struggling right now weren't expected to be playing so poorly either.

I wonder if these bruins are for real, a surprisingly strong start but they'll surely calm the (frank) down soon enough.

I still would be surprised of they get close to 25 wins, but we will see... the blue line has been pretty solid for the most part making it a lot easier for the goalies this year, then the poopshow we had last year.

And because of that, it has allowed the team to be a little more structured offensively (even if they are being held back by a few players who should be int he press box).

but they already have 5 wins and they haven't played 10 games yet... to me this makes no sense but anything is possible I guess.

Habs are surprising lots of teams right now, who probably took them too lightly (and often playing against back-ups). Teams will start to figure them out soon enough and poke holes in their game (look at what Detroit did to them a few weeks back, for example).

Which is fine.

And expected.

Lots to learn and time to grow.

The start of the season has been fun, but I do not think success at this rate will be sustained throughout the season. Like I said,12- 13 teams within 2 points of each other in the East... this will start to spread out soon.

of course they won't sustain their current winning rate all year long but they're a much feistier group than last year, and Edmundson and Matheson have yet to play a game.

your Detroit example doesn't really make sense since it was literally the habs' second regular-season game, so that didn't have anything to do with opponents "figuring out" the habs.

anyway like I said I don't get it but to each his own, we'll see how the season goes loll.

(bump)

so apparently Michel Therrien says that Geoff Molson is actually opposed to the Nordiques' return, and that he would even take actions to prevent it from happening if necessary, which is the complete opposite of what he affirms publicly...

GEOFF MOLSON VIENT DE SE FAIRE JETER SOUS L'AUTOBUS
https://www.habsetlnh.com...al-Michel-Therrien-170609

(en tout cas si c'est vrai, ça me dérangerait pas de rouler dessus avec l'Optobus, avec ses prix de billets ridicules pi son osti de patch RBC...)

anyway I guess it isn't that shocking that he would have such a position since he has a business to run, and that if he deems that the Nordiques' return would have negative effects on his organization's revenues and market share then it's perfectly normal that he'd be opposed to it... still I find it kind of comical how hypocrite it is loll.

Well people own pro sports teams because they are for-profit people. They don't own them to maintain a symbolic relationship with the community.

Being a fan of a sports team is like falling in love with a prostitute

Well we have the OIIQ trying to ruin the fun by dissuading people from buying sexy nurses costumes.

Because when we see one of those, we immediately think this is what a nurse actually looks like when she's working. Of course.
