I was really hoping Angelo Esposito would still be available in the 3rd round.

Sadly, the Leafs used the 74th overall pick to take Dale Mitchell.

Franking Leafs. Look who they could have had at 75.

For those of you that hate when Leaf fans bring up recent draft picks doing well for the Leafs...

Ty Voit has 28 PTS in 13 GP.

He continues to flirt with having the most productive D+2 OHL season in modern history.

He was a pandemic draftee, Dubas took a swing on a guy who missed that OHL season but showed loads of talent. Paying off so far. 5th round pick.

- Santo_44

Being just above 2.0 PPG doesn't seem close to that unless we're changing the definition of modern history. Just a feeling though. Love his season though.

Next free agency when no team will give him a significant contract after tearing his ACL

That's at 77. I don't even think you can say 75's name.

That's got fake name written all over it. Like "Hugh G. Rection"

I was way off, I thought it was referring to the Leafs drafting Killorn.

I knew it started with a 'C' though

He played 4 games for them and scored 0 points.

Don't know why he would have any sort of ties to that organization. If anything he'd want to get the hell away from there after having such a brutal injury.

Just think of the jersey sales.

The Leafs' dressing room would be made out of gold.

And I'm sure that the broadcasters would be doing linguistic gymnastics, pronouncing it Coonitty or saying the "C" is silent.

They did think highly enough to trade a second-round pick for him

I'd take him back in a heartbeat if he wanted to come back here and we could afford him. I think, even after an ACL tear, he makes more than minimum. He did score at about a 25 goal pace in the shortened 2020 season, and while last year was maybe a 12 goal pace, and this year was cut short, he's still a great penalty killer, good worker and so on. As I said, I'd love to have him, but I think given his reputation and work ethic, he makes more than we'd want to pay him.

Even after a season ending ACL tear?

I'd imagine something like 1 year 2M. plenty of familiar faces here, Toronto guy, and you know he would have a spot at 3RW plus a lead penalty killer.

Far away but that is the type of player the leafs target.

But he's a UFA after this year. If Washington comes in with a great offer - sure take it! - but realistically he probably makes it to free agency now that he's been injured and neither of them (other than the initial 2nd round pick investment) see any fruit from it.

As a UFA, it's his decision, but I wouldn't discount Washington re-signing him

We'll see. If he's available as a UFA on July 1st, I'd definitely be calling him to gauge his interest.

Justin Holl. 23 seconds from leading in ice time. and the Leafs win. As a scientist, thats a pretty decent correlation

Sandin sucks defensively so stop thinking he belongs on the shutdown pairing. If they were happy with his skill there they wouldn’t have bumped him to his opposite side onto the bottom pairing. That’s the one who will get sat Saturday I’m 99% certain of that.

So please, stop putting that defensive weakness onto the shutdown pairing.

Rielly Mete
Brodie Holl
Giordano Liljegren

That’s what Saturday's D will look like. They’re not going to break up and change the top 4 after a win.

- Dozzer

Holl really isnt that much of an improvement defensively.
I simply do not want him in the top 4, but unfortunately keefe continues to use him.
And after a win, unfortunately i think we see the same pairs for Saturday.
But this is why holl needs to be moved off the team, so he cab no longer be a top option.

Of course. It's an unknown for all of us, obviously. He's entering his first kick at unrestricted free agency, but coming off of a terrible season-ending injury. If Washington comes in at $3.5m or more, I think he should take it. If they come in lower, he might decide to see what the market says. I'm completely speculating, because I don't know where Brown values himself, but after this injury, I think Santo's got a point that his next contract will likely be lower as a result (especially because last year was also subpar at around a 12 goal pace after a 25 goal pace the year before).

I'm not sure you know what scientists do.
