Holl really isnt that much of an improvement defensively.
I simply do not want him in the top 4, but unfortunately keefe continues to use him.
And after a win, unfortunately i think we see the same pairs for Saturday.
But this is why holl needs to be moved off the team, so he cab no longer be a top option.

Liljregren is the only guy right now that can come in and potentially take his mins.
While he will help at some point they will need to address that externally.
Of course. It's an unknown for all of us, obviously. He's entering his first kick at unrestricted free agency, but coming off of a terrible season-ending injury. If Washington comes in at $3.5m or more, I think he should take it. If they come in lower, he might decide to see what the market says. I'm completely speculating, because I don't know where Brown values himself, but after this injury, I think Santo's got a point that his next contract will likely be lower as a result (especially because last year was also subpar at around a 12 goal pace after a 25 goal pace the year before). - Monkeypunk
If another team wants to pay up then great for Brown, you'd hope he gets paid because the timing is horrible for him for this injury.
But that would be some horrible GMing, I can't see a team offering more than a couple million. We have no clue what his skating will be like...ACL injuries are tough.

So I don't follow junior hockey, so this is a sincere question:
Is this a good thing, or is it more like becoming the all time AA home run hitter? - Atomic Wedgie
Well, it doesnt mean it will translate to the nhl.
But its good to see leafs picks do well in their current leagues.
Again, it doesn't equate to success in the nhl by any means, but it is better than sucking in their current league.
Sincerely,
Captain Obvious Jr
Justin Holl. 23 seconds from leading in ice time. and the Leafs win. As a scientist, thats a pretty decent correlation - drexel

Meanwhile, guess which defenceman had as strong a defensive game as you can put together, forcing 6 failed entries and allowing 0 scoring chances against after controlled entries?
Holl is the new dog to kick, but has some decent results...mostly.

I'm not sure what a controlled entry is in this case, but I literally watched Konecny walk in TWICE when Holl was the defender, and skate right through Holl (and his partner, who was likely Brodie) to get a great chance on Samsonov. I watched Holl aggressively overpursue the puck to Sanheim at the point, leaving Konecny free - realize he had done so and close on Konecny, but do nothing to block the pass to Farabee for the one-timer.
They can put up stats, but when you watch the game and see him screw up, the little things that he does well (that all defensemen do well, by the way) don't mean as much.
Philadelphia scored twice - and Holl was on the ice for both of them. I will say that on Tippet's goal, I'm not sure I blame Holl as much as I blame Samsonov for a goal he should have had - but Holl did get caught in the pocket not recognizing the wide guy (but it can be argued that he was Marner's responsibility there).

those stats are from Cam watching the game and tracking those things...so idk
so I guess, watch the game different is what you mean
if he used his size to throw a few hits and maybe fought once every 25 games.. he would be a fan favorite - senstroll
If my Aunt had balls....
He has had a very rough start. Coughs up the puck like he is doing it on purpose. Last night during an O zone possession he lost the puck at the blueline, while he was under no pressure.. FFS
