No doubt this is a weaker team than last year. Throwing darts on cheap free agents…no real plan. They are doing what they can with what they have available. Not many options, besides playing better. This team is not scary in the least. Seems like 7 forwards are just “guys”. Interchange any one or more of them any night and we’d barely notice.

Hate being the guy complaining about reffing... But ooof. If you're gonna pick and choose calls, call the one that comes with the injury potential. 🤦

Lots of good so far. Honestly, I've noticed Holl f-up a lot - and haven't noticed him do anything worthwhile. Remember that I'm not normally on the "hate Holl" train over the years, but Jesus is he bad this year. His confidence is clearly shot and he is a liability on the ice.

The first goal was them passing through him. If you're challenging the puck carrier, it has to have a purpose not just to make them pass it past you. He doesn't take the passing lane, he doesn't take the shooter, he doesn't do anything except cause the one-timer to happen. At the end of this period, Konecy skates right through 4 Leafs - Holl isn't alone in that, but he's a part of it - and gets off a great chance. Holl is the weakest link and I think Philly knows it.

4 straight penalties doesn't help, but pick it up in the 3rd and just go. They've carried the play with the exception of some weak officiating decisions.

Like to see a bigger lead after two periods vs a team that played last night and traveled…

So what if it's true.

Need to be a bit smarter and get them taking penalties instead of us. Still, it IS a much better overall game and effort. Need to find a bit more finish and get a couple more here honestly. I can hope we have a big hard effort in the third to really push them back and overwhelm them. Swing that momentum in our favor to the finish and win.
