Peca and Westfall are also both great choices. Lee has grown on me since Lameriello came on. Don’t get me wrong I’ve always liked the guy but from a leadership perspective Lee, to me at least, is everything you would want and has exceeded expectations. The most important thing is the team responds to him. You can literally see it. It’s palpable.

Well, what boxes does Lee check that Guerin didn't, in your opinion.

Again, I think Lee is severely underrated as a captain, just curious what you think he does that Guerin did not.

And yes, Potvin is the gold standard.

If it's the latter then I'd agree with you. If we're only talking Isles Guerin vs. Lee, I'm taking Lee

These first two pages have been an absolute pleasure to read.

Lee is just a beast he's so strong on the wall and in front and he has great hand eye, he may be the best net front player in the league. For me though barzal has been great he's taking over games shift by shift, its like they can't get the puck from him and he's just creating a ton. I know he needs to score more but if he gets 60 assists that's just as good as he's leading the offense with puck possesion and setting everything up. If they keep 27 13 and 29 together we need another center

To be fair Guerin’s time with us was brief and I’ll say again I liked the guy. We also didn’t have the best team at the time and our management sucked. With that said Lee leads on the the score sheet and does so when it matters. Lee’s physicality when it’s needed Guerin, when he was with us at least, couldn’t hold a candle to it. More importantly when Lee gets going on the ice the team more often then not responds with the same level of play. Last night is an example of that. The team was lethargic for 40 mins down by two goals going into the third. Lee came out physically dominating and scored a goal. The team responded and we won in OT. Read that Lambert didn’t even talk to the team in btn periods it was Lee. Not sure if it’s true but wouldn’t doubt it.

Barzal was dominant last night as well. Would also hardly call him a reluctant shooter last night, as I’m pretty sure he fired at least five.

He almost got one just squeaked wide after the stop. Barzal is playing great I’m not worried about the goals. They’ll come eventually and when they do hopefully it’s when they’re needed aka some other fwds are on a cold streak…

I'm not crapping on him at all he was a beast and a great fighter and was a utica devil in the ahl when I was a kid and lived up there and he was dominant there. He just was on a bad isles team is all, he then went and won a cup wirh the pens
