Those top 3 forward lines on St.Louis are deadly. Quite the depth. A third line of Neighbours, Schenn and Kyrou is a pretty nice luxury to have. Hart has his work cut out for him tonight. |

Risto is really in Tort’s doghouse.
This is a good thing. Gives me the impression Torts and Chuck are going to work together to right the ship. Whether that’s getting them to play better or eventually shipping out who doesn’t work.
I think Torts has a long leash and could even get extended after 4 years. There doesn’t appear to be any pressure from Chuck to treat anyone different based on their cap hit/contract. I get the feeling Chuck is legit asking for help and is going to listen based on what Torts sees. That’s my hope, we will see how it plays out.
For once I’d like to have a coach for a long time and make the players aware of it - if you’re not going to be apart of the solution then you’re gone - no more of this “waiting out coaches” business.
And if Torts has been their guy that they’ve wanted for a while - well, they got him. No sense in letting him go and starting at square 1 again |

So this game will be either 0-0 loss in a shootout or 10-8 loss.

This will be their Gloria moment #2. 15-1 Blues. Hart gets pulled, goes back in gets pulled again. Retro jersey debut in tatters.... |

He died. Didn't you hear?
But seriously, how many mysterious injuries can one team hide over the course of time? |

Unless you swap bad contract for bad contract. The coach may have no choice but to try t make it work.
Him benching Risto is a stain on the GM's face at this time.

It appears he's back in the lineup tonight, so I think you're on to something. |

I like to watch Risto when he is on the ice. It is like this masochistic thing I have because he literally makes at least one bad play or decision on every shift. Be it a bad puck decision, or covering the wrong guy, or getting out of position to make a hit. It never ends. It never gets better. Through I don't know how many coaches over 9 plus seasons.
I hope he puts it together soon.

- MBFlyerfan Just a putrid decision to extend him for 6 years. There was zero justification.
I am not shocked he is back in and I will assume Zamula out. Need more of Braun and Seeler.

What he should do is play him on the 3rd pair. Limit his minutes. Maybe some how some way you prop him up and make him look better than he is. Then hope for the best to see if some foolish GM needs a Risto for the playoffs. The term is the absolute killer. So to me just wishful thinking.
Risto, Seeler, Braun, and Zamula are not top 4 dman. They have no one on the Phantoms capable of playing that role at this time. So in other words the GM did a horrendous job constructing this defense. |

You mean the current and past gm, correct? This current gm did not exactly take over a crackerjack stable of thoroughbreds.
Agree 100% Risto has been a failure, but we had 6 or 7 supposed stud young dmen and we are now feeling the impact of just how overrated that crew was.
However, for you to rip this gm for their 4, 5 and 6 dmen without pumping his tires on the TDA pickup is kinda disingenuous..

The GM could have moved those supposed stud dmen, yet he choose otherwise.
Tony D is not a top pairing dman in any way. He has contributed where he was/is expected to contribute. No issues. No need to pump his tires in any way. Just curious, do you think the GM was bidding against any other teams for Tony D services?

Is this what you believe? Looks to me Torts is the one running things. I don’t hate Risto. He’s here, I want him to improve but if it takes a coach to tell management that a player isn’t working, this probably means our GM is a moron. I mean you signed a player your new coach won’t play… |

All he has to do is punch somebody in the face and take a couple of pucks to the groin and Torts will have him eating Kevin Hayes' lunch. |
