It did from the start. He had one year as a starter and landed $25 million even tho he was far from consistent for the entire season as a starter? Gutsy signing by the oilers for sure.

I have to say, if I take off my Leaf goggles, objectively speaking I'm not crazy about Vegas' chances is this hockey game. I'm feeling Leafs in this one, in a big way.

Vegas has been hot but their winning started against the leafs who seem to have gotten amped up from losing so much on the road trip. This could be a good game.

Every defenseman in the NHL make mistakes with the puck. Leafs D make less mistakes with the puck then any other team. Which basically says Leafs D are vastly underated but are under a microscope constantly and every mistake is magnified more.

How bout this beauty:

Samsonov on ice is a really good sign. Hopefully its not a lingering issue that will impact him cause he was playing extremely well. Good news on Murray but I fear the game back and start the injury clock on him all over again. We really need more than a couple of games there.

The other thing is what’s going on with Muzzin. Its been pretty quiet there on him.
