But you understand this is the perspective of the players agent, who will say and do anything to get the player signed, right? - jd250
That's not the case here. Listen to it. You'll be surprised to find out a number of things that were not disclosed publicly previously. As well, you'll be surprised to find out that his agent is a black guy that's been deeply involved in diversity efforts in the NHL. Give it a listen. |

There is no evidence that McEwen is an effective forechecker. Neither has been good and both really shouldn't be full time NHL players. They're a significant reason for why this team won't be a good team. - MJL
Well I watch the games I notice them forechecking just like they did last night, they are getting good mins from a coach that seems to know what he is doing and I’m gonna guess he knows a little more about the game than us. So yep I’m gonna go with the coaches opinion and the results on the ice as opposed to the analytical brain trust out there.
44 kept the puck in the zone, took bodies, the flyers made a successful line change which resulted in a goal. It just happened last night. I have no issue w analytics, but when it’s contrary to results on the ice and the coaches opinion who is doing a hell of a job w a rag tag bunch… I’m gonna go w the coach. That’s just me.
Sometimes ya gotta stop worrying about contracts, which gm brought in what players and just call it like you see it…
My opinion is both players have had a positive impact on the ice and are contributing to victories.
I would agree you can’t have both in a top 9 and expect to win in the spring, but they are helping them win games right now and 44 will create room on the ice for our skill players if we ever get healthy or if and when frost finds his mits again.
It’s almost as if folks here don’t want them to win.

Something very weird is going on with Atkinson. They could have put him on IR in order to bring up Ersson, but chose to demote Zamula instead. He's been on the active roster all season despite getting nowhere near playing a game. Maybe this injury he has, isn't technically an injury...
If he forechecks so well why does he get crushed in shot attempts? The best way to help the D is to keep the puck out of the D Zone, and that is not what happens with MacEwen on the ice. - Feanor
I have a suspicion it might be mental/ emotional that needs to be healed with him.
Edit: My post is late, this already has been stated on the thread. |

Unpopular opinion. I think Nick D and Zach MacEwen deserve to be here and I’m fine with them being here.
Also I thought Ristolainen responded well to his healthy scratch. Solid game by Cates, wanting more from Frost.
I think Provorov deserves a letter. - SuperSchennBros

That's just it. You aren't going by the player results on the ice. You're ignoring them and focusing on anecdotal evidence such as the coach knows more than us. I love when that is arbitrarily applied. When a team is losing and doing poorly, and fans blame a coach. Does the coach knows more than us mantra still apply? McEwen has had some early puck luck and scored some goals. That's not going to last. That Deslauriers is going to create room on the ice for skill players is a myth. Is that similar to how the physical monster of Ristolainen is going to intimidate players, clear the net and make players play a price to get to the net?
Somehow dealing in the facts means that you don't want the team to win. |

Listened to the Cam & Strick podcast from Monday. They interviewed Eustace King, Mitchell Miller's agent. There is A LOT of info that none of us knew yesterday during our discussion on the topic. Here's a link to learn more about what is true and what is not with this situation.
https://www.camandstrick.com/ - Letterkenney
Made it through 20 minutes - nothing but agent spin, imho. Until proof through actions that Miller has changed he doesn't deserve a shot at the NHL, imho.

How do you know what Miller's actions have been as an adult? He's 20 years old. What have his actions been since he turned 18?

44 also had a play behind the net where it appeared the Blues player took a poke or chirp...44 was right there to confront the dude who back straight down.
It was good to see.
If we breed a culture that we are a hard out and even harder at home would be a win for the season.

I don't. And there doesn't seem to be any proof that he's done anything substantive in the right direction. I'm happy to read about it if it comes out.

Right, you don't so how can you say he doesn't deserve it at this point? Without knowing the facts. According to what the agent says, he has taken steps to better himself.
Honestly, I don't want this to spill over into this thread. I'll discuss over there if you want to. Or not. Either way, I respect your opinion. |

I like this post. I mean, hopefully your GM starts selling guys off.
Honest question, do you think the flyer's management would trade Hart?

I listened to the whole thing. Seems to be a lot of proof.
This is a typical media spin of something that was well on its way to being remedied. Miller and Isaiah were well on their way to reconciling and putting it behind them but people with an agenda decided it shouldn't be over. They are turning an event that was provably not race related in to a race issue.
They know people wont listen to anything that changes their minds about it because that would require them to change their minds. And that is just something we are incapable of doing any more.
You can call it agent spin from his black agent if you want, but everything the agent said should be easily verifiable by someone with the means to do it. IE any reporter that doesn't have an agenda. An agent at the level of Eustace King is not going to perjure himself in the court of public opinion by telling blatant lies that would be easily verified or not. He has nothing to gain by it. And a LOT to lose. |
