I like this post. I mean, hopefully your GM starts selling guys off.
Honest question, do you think the flyer's management would trade Hart? - Aaron_85 What benefit would there be in trading him at this time? He is what 24 years old? Unless you completely tear it down makes zero sense to move him. Lets hear what you think his value would be in a trade.
There is no indication they will start selling players off. In fact the opposite.

Agree. What about TK? - rayc16
Hard to argue. He’s both the straw that stirs the drink and a spark plug. I wanted TK traded this summer but right now, he’s his best hockey self. The best Travis Konency I’ve seen his entire career.
All points make sense to me. MacEwen has played well. He forechecks. Best way to help the d os to forecheck effectively and he does that. No one is delusional about his abilities. He’s a 4th line guy that you move up once in while. 44 as well. He has played well. Unpopular opinion here, but the reality is both have been good thus far and have been part of the solution.
Also, why wouldn’t I want my coach to believe they can make the playoffs?
Having success is good for the youth on this team. - Joe Nardone
Fans see things different from within an organization. Before Torts was hired and there was only speculation of him coming here, many asked why he would come here? Of course the obvious answer is a pay check but the man probably sees opportunity. He’s built many organizations from the group up.
cant argue, even on Zac and I have complained about him, currently, they have earned their way. RR did play better, torts hits again. Of course, all teams go through losing spells, that is when we will see what we really have. - wcorvette
The tires can come off at anytime and last night wasn’t one of those nights where you can point to Hart as the single reason why they won. In fact I felt in Ottawa Hart was only half the story. The first half. The Flyers really picked up their game in the second half. Everyone.
The question becomes for those who still are hell bent against Nick D and Mac is, what’s playing well and what is playing terribly to you for two players with limited skill? To me, they’re not taking penalties. They actually are producing. They're not minus players. What are the expectations for two guys who don’t have any? The answer is simple, they’re playing well to their strengths, which they don’t have very many. |

I listened to the whole thing. Seems to be a lot of proof.
This is a typical media spin of something that was well on its way to being remedied. Miller and Isaiah were well on their way to reconciling and putting it behind them but people with an agenda decided it shouldn't be over. They are turning an event that was provably not race related in to a race issue. - MBFlyerfan
You should probably read the statement from the victim instead of making assumptions.

he wouldn't have advocated for Torts. |

Anytime a white kid calls a black kid a N-word, it's a race issue. That's not complicated.

Oh I get that management has no inclination to do a full rebuild so far. I think they should from just a hockey fan.
As for Hart, goalies are tough calls on the trade market. As a leaf fan, I'd offer Samsonov + 2024 2nd round pick. Goalies tend to be cheaper than we think on the market.

They know people wont listen to anything that changes their minds about it because that would require them to change their minds. And that is just something we are incapable of doing any more.
You can call it agent spin from his black agent if you want, but everything the agent said should be easily verifiable by someone with the means to do it. IE any reporter that doesn't have an agenda. An agent at the level of Eustace King is not going to perjure himself in the court of public opinion by telling blatant lies that would be easily verified or not. He has nothing to gain by it. And a LOT to lose. - MBFlyerfan
It’s important to look at what Isaiah himself says. This statement was released by the HDA at his request:

It bothers me too. What happened, the years of abuse, should not be minimized.

Samsonov is 25 (one year older than Hart), he makes a little less than half as much as Hart does however he would need to be signed this year opposed to next year. So Philly gets a young goalie that costs less with upside and a 2nd round pick to re-tool/rebuild while also moving 2+ million in salary.
Also that's where I'd start. For funsies, instead of just saying it's terrible why not make a counter? It's easy to just go "it's terrible" without offering anything in return.

Which is fine. I mean I asked if he was and was then told to give an offer. Why would I start at the best one? If I felt he was the answer going forward fine I'd trade a first and Matt Murray for him. Salary dump and a 1st round pick.

And you’d get laughed at. Goalies also are hard to find …as is the case in Toronto…obviously. |

Oh sure, then you'd have to swap Shanny, Dubas and Keefe for to us for Scott, Torts and Chuck to make that kind of pain worth it. |

Goalies can be hard but I mean what's the most a young goalie that's struggled in recent seasons gone for on the trade market? A first round pick at BEST. Hart would get that on the market...maybe.
