Oh sure, then you'd have to swap Shanny, Dubas and Keefe for to us for Scott, Torts and Chuck to make that kind of pain worth it.

Samsonov is 25 (one year older than Hart), he makes a little less than half as much as Hart does however he would need to be signed this year opposed to next year. So Philly gets a young goalie that costs less with upside and a 2nd round pick to re-tool/rebuild while also moving 2+ million in salary.

Also that's where I'd start. For funsies, instead of just saying it's terrible why not make a counter? It's easy to just go "it's terrible" without offering anything in return.

- Aaron_85

Samsonov of was also kicked to curb in Washington….for Hart your going to have to include a 1rst and at least a Nylander….2nd rnd picks are not viewed as having very much significance. A TOR one would be somewhere in the 50 th pick range. I know Fletcher sucks as a GM….but he wouldn’t be one for much longer if Hart got dealt for a castoff and a draft pick in the 50’s.

It is a terrible offer. Would you do it if you where the Flyers GM?

Keep the pick and Samsonov. Moving 2 million in salary while having to add money next season to address the goalie situation doesn't seem ideal in any way. The end of the day they end up paying more money more than likely.

There is no need to make a counter offer. Unless it is an overpay there is no value in trading him at this time. None.

Which is fine. I mean I asked if he was and was then told to give an offer. Why would I start at the best one? If I felt he was the answer going forward fine I'd trade a first and Matt Murray for him. Salary dump and a 1st round pick.

For as long as I have known the Flyersfandom, they have bemoaned the lack of great goaltending. Like their Achilles heel which failed them when they could almost taste triumph. Until the day they called up Carter Hart, too early mind you, but then there was hope. You don’t trade away the thing you always said you wanted because your in a tough spot. Being a goalie in Philly is tough, goalie’s like Hart don’t grow on trees. No trade.

It bothers me too. What happened, the years of abuse, should not be minimized.

i don't like the idea of basically canceling someone because they did something really stupid when they were in 8th grade or even younger, but if it kept going on for years after this then i think it's pretty deserving. i don't know that that was the case here, i was genuinely asking if it was still going on after. they just kept mentioning 14 years old in a lot of the things i was reading/listening to.

Goalies can be hard but I mean what's the most a young goalie that's struggled in recent seasons gone for on the trade market? A first round pick at BEST. Hart would get that on the market...maybe.
- Aaron_85

Considering Hart’s start…keep adding. Your best isn’t close…but I think you know that. So it appears Dubas is basing his future on a cast off and an injury prone/overpaid Murray…yikes. Hart is one of the few young marketable potential stars in philly’s lineup….a deal is not happening.

It is approximately age 8-17 from what I can piece together. To me, the decision should be who Miller is now. He hadn’t presented any credible evidence that he has changed who he is inside. His words tell me a different story. Yes, that is only my opinion and intuition. I really believe the ball is in his court to show who he is now. Minimizing what occurred and presenting half-truths doesn’t fly for me. Just my opinion.

Just my opinion but in stating that he hasn't shown who he is now or that there isn't any evidence that he has changed is probably less than a half truth. So how does that fly by presenting unknown conditions as fact?

Yes, I think it is fair given his history to have to show it now.

I thought the agent interview was worthwhile. The agent said that he did exhaustive research to find out the facts with timelines. He says that his goals were for healing between the victim and the perpetrator and rehabilitation for Mitchell and that he continues to do the work that he has started. That’s a good thing.

So now as an adult, guilty until proven innocent. Here is the point. You have no clue that hasn't shown he has changed. Yet you're posting that he has not shown that he has and that half- truths are not good enough for you. Your statements are below the standard of half-truths. Did you read what his agent said?

Speaking of which, your repeated claim that Miller has not apologized directly to the victim, has been shown to be false.

I was working while listening but I believe that the agent said they talked on social media and even considered doing some work together and that Isaiah congratulated him on the contract. Mitchell congratulated Isaiah when his child was born. They were definitely communicating positively until things got disrupted.

Keep in mind that Miller is not currently incarcerated. He is free to live his life. Just as others are free to decide who to employ and at what level. Character, personal history and experience are usually factors in the decision-making process. This is typically the case.

Again, it’s important to look at what Isaiah himself says. This statement was released by the HDA at his request:

All points make sense to me. MacEwen has played well. He forechecks. Best way to help the d os to forecheck effectively and he does that. No one is delusional about his abilities. He’s a 4th line guy that you move up once in while. 44 as well. He has played well. Unpopular opinion here, but the reality is both have been good thus far and have been part of the solution.

Also, why wouldn’t I want my coach to believe they can make the playoffs?

Having success is good for the youth on this team.

- Joe Nardone

Careful now, giving praise to MacEwen may cause you problems. Some on this board say he does not belong in the NHL and his teammates are most likely laughing at him behind his back.

I don't think what Mitchell did to Isaiah is in any way in dispute. I also wouldn't be surprised if Isaiah felt that way. Of course, Mitchell isn't his friend. Do we need that letter to know that? Doesn't have any bearing on whether Mitchell should be permitted to play in the NHL in my opinion.

I’m not in any way trying to minimize that what Mitchell did to Isaiah was anything other than horrible. The agent points out misconceptions in the podcast. I think the podcast gives some additional perspective. The agent characterized himself as an analysis paralysis type and wouldn’t have represented Mitchell until certain conditions were met. I believe he did his due diligence in getting the facts. Like MB said, it would be easy enough for someone to expose the agent if they weren’t the facts.

Zac MacEwen is noticeable every shift he is on the ice. He was instrumental in 2 of the Flyers goals last night. BTW, did Frost dress last night? I'm asking because I didn't notice him ..
