The fact that Matheson plays on the left side is somewhat problematic.

There's already someone playing on his wrong side since Edmundson came back.


We only have 3 RHD on the roster: Savard, Wideman and Kovacevic.

I don't care about Wideman but losing Kova on waivers would suck considering our lack of depth and his surprisingly effective job as a bottom pairing RHD.

Might come down to a LD/RD thing. Kovacevic is the easy man out but he's a RD, Matheson is a LD and so far it's Guhle Harris Xhekaj.

Sending Harris or Xhekaj down and calling up Justin Barron is the only thing that could make sense in balancing things out but it doesn't make sense it terms of on ice performance.

But we traded him at the right moment, he's not gonna get better with time.

Xhekaj didn't look turrible last night, Guhle and Harris didn't get a consistent try yet on the PP either... perhaps in terms of a veteran presence then yeah I guess I agree. if they can get an insane deal for Edmundson I understand why you'd want to do it but I think I'd value his presence on the back end more, even after seeing Matheson play again.
