MJL, I usually don't agree with your posts, but I like this lineup, too. I love Zac's energy, but I feel Lacynski has more offensive upside. ND, Sedlak and McEwen is a tough 4th line with energy that may score an occasional goal?

Joel Farabee- Kevin Hayes - Travis Konecny
Owen Tippet - Morgan Frost - Wade Allison
Noah Cates- Scott Laughton - Tanner Lacynzski
Nicolas Deslauriers - Lucas Sedlak- Zac McEwen

Well if you don't agree with something I post. Step up and say so and we'll talk it out. My hope is the Flyers get some bodies back and Deslauriers and McEwen are out of the lineup. Neither is a good player.

The Flyers should trade Frost. The organization is incapable and the coach is unwilling to develop him properly.

There is no hope here. Do right by the player and move him.
-StepfordSam

This is the 3rd coach that has treated Frost like this! I mean when are we going to stop blaming the coaches and treating Frost like a victim and once and for all accept what Frost is, which is nothing more than a marginal forward who probably is destined as a career AHLer. You don't think Torts wants Frost to be a top 6 center given the situation at center on this team currently? The kid is just not that good!

This is how I will answer that. Last season, once Yeo took over. Frost was told he had to work on other areas of his game. Improve his play away from the puck in his positioning and puck battles. Yeo praised him and frequently stated how much he had improved. Yeo told him to improve in that way and not worry about points. The points will come. Late in the season, he formed an effective line with Cates and Tippet. Now new coach and Frost is right back in the doghouse. Limited minutes with unskilled linemates and periods of gaps between shifts. This is the equivalent of jerking a player around. For an organization lacking talent, player development should be the priority.

Players put themselves in coach's doghouses by either the way they play or the attitude they have, and sometimes both. Torts has demonstrated he is more than willing to give young players big minutes, case in point Cates, and has also demonstrated he holds everyone accountable not matter if they are rookies or veterans. I don't know how much more fair it can be for a player. Frost is where he is because of himself, not anyone else.

I hope that's wrong also, but I feel the same way. I'm not sure what all the praise for Tortorella is about. His style of team play is archaic. His overuse of bad players is puzzling. He certainly is full of crap about his non-negotiables and holding players accountable regardless of who they are. All coaches are selective and play favorites. Just don't blow smoke up my you know what with BS talk and state otherwise. It's unlikely that Hart can hold up playing like a superstar. GAA will rise and with the issue in scoring, The Flyers might start losing on a regular basis and the fans will be questioning effort again.

I was in support of hiring Torts so I'm not going to completely bash him now. I don't always agree with his decisions or methods and not sure he is the right coach in the long run. I do feel like this team isn't the train wreck we've witnessed the last 2 years. Could be because of Hart's play but I think it's a bit more than that. It also could be like AV, good start and down hill after a short period of time.

All the underlying numbers show that this team is a train wreck. It's amazing they have the record they have.

I agree. This is pretty much where I am at with the whole Frost thing.

In Frost's case, I don't think it's tough love from Torts like with Allison and others, I think this is Torts showing Frost isn't his type of player and isn't going to use him in any purposeful role.

Hope I'm wrong.

I agree not his type for whatever reason. Skill maybe lol.

Not disagreeing with either of your statements. I may certainly be proven wrong and I don't expect this team to make the playoffs, just seems different than the last two years. I think Allison is improving, Tippett (not last night) is better than I was expecting. I like the way Provy and TK have played so far and loving Hart. It could all come crashing down.....

If we were fully healthy, I’m not even remotely convinced that Frost, Allison or Laczynski‘s jobs are safe. I think Deslauriers and MacEwen are as safe as anyone for the moment.

If the game is on NHL Network, does that mean it’s not on ESPN PLUS? That’s what it looks like

When we actually see him play 15min/night in the top 6 for a consistent 20 games. Until that happens the debate will rage on....

The narrative that Frost needs better linemates is not the point.
He has no finish on a few great looks to date.
He has had some nice passes not finished but,
those passes are every 4th shift.
3 shifts of circling around losing pucks and getting outworked is not a way to get better linemates.
Three coaches have all seen this kid and never put him with better people up the lineup cause he is merely not up to the task. I do remember vary early on he had some nice assists to Claude but he quickly disappeared, again not up to task.
He is easily worked off the puck now imagine vs a solid 1-2 line C.
For me his plight happened in his first camp going against Coots in a drill and he got worked.
He has no fight because his early career the game was slow and easy for him.
I just see Weal 1.25.

He has not shown any coach that this would be best for the team.
Minutes are not just given cause you have potential to be better.
Be better with whomever you are on the ice.
Then you get ice time cause you are killing it shift after shift.
