Let the other team talk about running into a hot goalie for a change.
I called for a two goal game for DeBrincat last game because it felt like his time had to come. So I was off by a game. I'll take it. - Whatisavailable
Yes you did call that! And agreed, nice we stonewalled a team |

Chabot was on track to play around 25-26 minutes this game, much better. Love Chabot's game and hate to see him out, but much like last year with injuries forcing the coach to play Stutzle at centre, perhaps there is a silver lining for the team... one thing DJ has been gifted at is discovering how wrong his own systems are when put into a crunch situation. |

Jacob Bernard-Docker played two more 5v5 minutes than anyone on the Senators today (19:36). The closest to him was Tim Stützle (17:28).

Absolutely! Maybe Lassi Thomson gets the call up!

Why not put the player back in the lineup that has yet to experience a win while dressing for Ottawa?!

Very impressive. Just need to get better on the defensive side of the game!

Your GM didn’t get the memo that every other GM got lol, you build from the goal out, not the reverse.

If that dirty hit would have been delivered by an Ottawa player against the top D of an American based team there would have been a major and a match penalty and the league would be looking into the length of the suspension while the talking heads would be spewing outrage and concern and the need for a lengthy suspension in the interests of promoting player safety.
Instead when you listen to this hypocritical gang of sleazebags you hear them praise the hit with terms like "He just drove right through him" or "He cut him in half". What a bunch of turds!
The whole gang, especially those scumbags in Toronto, is gleefully looking on to see how badly fleeced Dorion will get trying to pick up another Hamonic or give up two unprotected firsts, JBD, Greig and Thomson for Chychrun.
Hopefully they won't get their wish to really hurt the Ottawa franchise and Chabot won't be out long and the medical staff is just playing it safe. |

Looks like Chabot has a concussion......
A hit on the numbers that caused a concussion, no repercussions.....gotta love the refs/player safety committee. |

They really must want to keep Lassi Thomson down in Belleville.

You mean act like a REAL NHL GM?! Everyone said it the last 2 summers, address the defense first. Yesterday was the first game this season that they only allowed one goal! That is pretty telling.

Maybe they go after Seth Jones now, bring a 3rd team in and see how much contract can be eaten by the 2 teams that are tanking and at the start of a 5 yr rebuild, Dorion likes doing dumb things.....so let's hope it's at least a quality player coming back if he wants to (seems unavoidable now) include our first rnd pick next year, not exactley my first choice given contract may not age well. But the market is thin it seems
Addendum: he is injured for another week or 2, thumb Injury |

Very impressive. Just need to get better on the defensive side of the game! - spatso This is so frustrating because it's exactly what we all knew going into this season and yet the Sens could do nothing. What makes me really made is if the Sens don't get up with a top pick AND don't see a significant push for the playoffs.
Chabot now out a week, playoffs are pretty much done unless a miracle takes place this season.
Btw who else thinks we should trade DeBrincat? I don't like him anywhere close to 8m - he's not impactful in the overall game and I don't see him scoring MORE in the last few years of a long contract. With that said it's still early and I'm not giving up on him as a goal scorer - he can get hot later on, especially after adjusting to life without Patrick Kane |

The most any combo of teams can retain is 50% in any trade. So Ottawa would be taking on a big chunk long term, while they still have resigned Zub who will cost far less.

Debrincat, lets see where his numbers are at come late February....then PD would have to make the call.....I hear ya, he is going to want 9M per year.....
As for Chabot, if Zub can come back this week that would help. Lassi Thomson carries the puck the ice well too, yet he was bypassed. Now all of a sudden DJ is going to play Branny more after he has lowered his minutes the last few games, go figure!

Hamonic is a 5th D at best on this team, now he is in the top pairing, yikes! Guess Zub still isn't back.

Exactly, he has no idea how to deploy the blueline, he has this team dumping and chasing the puck too with all that skill.....Ottawa was outplayed badly yesterday for chunks of the game, Talbot bailed them out and the Sens capitalized on the PP, otherwise.....eeks. That wont happen all the time. First time this team has given up only one goal in a game this season.....
