He still is, at his advanced age. A dangerous sniper.

The bottom has fallen out as many expected. Only the Blow Joe's can compete with flyers on becoming 8th in the Metro.

There is little hope this gets turned around in the next few years. Very little will change next year.

Goalie and core defense in tact. Maybe you have 2 of Attard York or Zamula. I doubt it. Need vet presence. Either way they will have growing pains they should be having now. No need to not have them learn at the nhl level at this time.

Offensively You will have 2 huge question marks in Cam and Coututier. Neither are world beaters to begin with. Nothing on the farm that will make a huge difference.

Add a Bad GM and a coach who is not a right fit for this team.

Combine their ineptitude at drafting and development.

You have a bunch of players, many of whom I would have/still would jettison, who show no sense of urgency. They are all content with their role on this team as they collect their check. Losing is all they know.

What hope are you really left with?

Currently sitting 17th in the league. Pretty confident the slide will continue. Feeling good about dropping another 10 spots by Christmas.

How many blown backchecks and coverages does Hayes have to make before he faces accountability?
- MJL

I don’t know…the game must really look different from the bench. The coach just gave the team an “A” for effort in the post game presser.

Don’t forget that the medical staff is terrible at anything remotely related to medical stuff.

The hope is from the following three things:
1. The Flyers end up in the bottom of the league again, get lucky with the ping pong balls and get into the top 3 of the draft
2. Cutter Gauthier has a good season (so far so good, 5G, 3A, 8Pts in 7gms) and is ready for the Flyers next season
3. Flyers trade JVR and a few others at the deadline, Ellis retires or at least never plays again, and the Flyers can start accumulating cap space.

1. How funny would it be they get the #1 pick Bedard refuses to play here.

2. Doesn’t change much at all. Still a bad team with little offense.

3. All you are going to get for JVR and Braun ( who they may not even trade) are mid rd picks who are lottery tickets. That is fine though does nothing for the next 4 years. Ellis is not retiring. Flat out dumb to suggest otherwise.

Accumulate Cap space. Now that is funny. They are to incompetent to do that. Look at the current cap picture.

So all your hope is pretty much based on luck.

The Flyers may have lost the last 3 games but I believe they played much better this past week than they did earlier in the season or anytime last season. Scoring chances against are down, puck possession is much better, much better zone exits, less turnovers at their own blue line, good looks on their power plays. The difference this past week is the lack of the skill on the Flyers in that they just can't finish enough plays. They had some good zone time today and good PP looks, just could not capitalize. If the Flyers can get Cutter Gauthier next year plus another high pick, that should up the skill level and begin to turn things for the better.

Don’t have to move them for cap space as expiring contracts. My guess is they retain 50% on both which would be wise.

you're leaving very little room for subtlety when this team is decimated by injuries and you can't realistically sit everyone who pisses you off every game. Whether we like it or not Hayes is one of the few healthy players here so, as a coach, you need to be tactful with benchings/scratches etc. Otherwise folks would be sitting every other period and no one would have any confidence in the coach's approach.

He sent the message early. TK has responded. Hayes might just be is who he is which may be a sign of concession to Fletcher on Tort's part.

When Laughton is leading your forward core in ice time speaks volumes. On several levels.

The Risto with the least amount on defense is such a tragedy. This is the one thing I hope continues as it is a 100% embarrassment for the GM.

Can’t wait for the fake tough guy coach to blow a gasket. It is coming.

Frost with more minutes than ZM. It’s a start.

I thought their effort was very good today, especially given they were on a back-to-back. In the end, their lack of skill did them in.... Again! Today as in the last few games, the Flyers were on the right side of some key indicators, expect the most important one, the scoreboard.

I'll say what no one on here has the guts to say. If we win the lottery and get 1st pick, how do we know Chuck doesn't package it with Sanheim to move back in draft. Picking 12-18 is much less pressure...
