A good 3C isn't the end of the world, but Mitts time is almost up. 4C would be best for the team atm, but they are stubborn about him....hopefully in trying to trade him down the road. - Lunaion
The Sabres really see something in mitts.
I think it's his effort and hustle. Hard as management to see how he works, and not give him every opportunity.
Isnt what this season is about. Being 100% on the current team members? |

People ripping on Cozens for not stepping in might want to remember he hurt his wrist or hand in the scrum in front of the net last game. Was icing it in the penalty box and twisting and turning it. Could be something to think about. - Buff36
1st thing that came to me as well. Not like him to not jump in...he's always in the middle of the pile.
Man, that Sens team has some size to it...lots of guys over 6'.

Yes they do, Sabres aren't exactly Small. They just play small |

I think they see Savoie as his inevitable replacement. Tried to feature him early in the season. Now, he's glued to the 3rd line.

It’s like ppl expect every 1st round player to be a great NHLer a year or 2 after they’re drafted
It usually takes some time
Just look at Tage for example
He was wretched with us as a 21year old (remember that spin move?! 🤣🤣)
Even as a 23year old he didn’t look much better
Broke out last year, at age 24
MOST of these kids take time to grow into the player they’ll be- good, bad or in between
So many here just don’t have any patience for that though
If the player is t producing right away, he’s garbage
Lolololol - jdfitz77
I would agree. It's not so much the players anymore but Donnie isn't the right guy now and won't be when most of the youngins mature.
When he's finally fired and leaves he should take Okposo with him.

I get what your saying, but this franchise cant afford to let a good player slip away and develop somewhere else.
I'd take as long as necessary to look at mitts.
Top 10 nhl pick still |

He isn't a good player right now. That's the problem.
The next wave is coming and right now, the 3rd line is a complete dud. Either have to move on, or accept that he might just be a 4th liner.
I'm sure you'll hate this, but:
Kevin
@ntrider825
Sabres forwards with very good on ice GF/60 rates at even strength: Skinner, Thompson, Cozens, Tuch
Those with good rates: Quinn, Hinostroza, Peterka, Asplund
Those with meh to OK rates: Krebs, Okposo
Those with awful rates: Girgensons, Mittelstadt, Olofsson

Does that correlate to playing together. |

Ouch
That's the thing about analytics. The 4th line guys would have better %'s with better opportunities.
Let skinner play with girgs/asplund/Sheehan and see him sink as well.
I'm ready to move on from everyone other than tage, tuch , cozens, dahlin, samuelsson and power.
Maybe I'm missing a player or 2.....

Maybe true
But i think he’s been “ok” at least
Not like the Sabres are gonna be able to attract a top tier coach any time soon |
