The last time people around the Delaware Valley jumped from their chairs and yelled "what was that?" was back in August of 2011.

That's when a 5.8 magnitude earthquake struck near Richmond, Virginia.

Even though that's 230 miles away from Philadelphia, it was clearly felt here and even caused damage.

i even said out loud "well this is an earthquake" even though i couldn't really believe that it was happening here.

So yeah...just got the official news, my boss is closing the company effective now. I've been working there for the last 15 years. Don't know what i'll do now.

I haven't done interviews in more than 20 years. A bit lost at the moment. Don't know why I'm posting this here...need to vent I guess. Thanks for reading.

late, but sorry to hear that man. I think you already mentioned a while ago that your boss was thinking about doing this, right?

anyway with your experience, I'm sure it won't take you too much time to find something else, there's a lack of labor pretty much everywhere

Well theres the Twitter, Amazon and FB people looking for jobs now, curious to see for real if in 2023 the job market will be less crazy ? ( assuming some other big douchy company will follow up the 3 previously mentioned)

those layoffs are more in the states though, right? and they're all basically related to the same sector, except maybe for Amazon that has a warehouse component to it...
