Bill thanks for your continued coverage of the team. Hopefully Frost will start to produce with more offensive linemates. |

Flyers going to try rest and rehab before considering surgery for Atkinson. What could go wrong. |

That's all I asked: a chance to center (or play a wing) with higher-skill linemates, a more reasonable number of offensive-zone starts and more than the 8 to 10 minutes of ice time he'd been getting for about 6 games.
If he can't succeed with Farabee on his line, that's on Frost. Giving him Deslauriers/MacEwen and a barely used Laczynski as his most frequent linemates with scant 5-on-5 ice time, 25 seconds or so per power play and very few o-zone starts was not putting him in position to succeed.
But if he stays with Farabee for a while and they get more than 90 seconds of ice time in a period (as was the case in the first period against Dallas before they played more as the game went along and also got several o-zone starts), then it's on him to rise or fall on his own merits. THAT is a fair chance.
Same thing goes for Bellows, BTW. Playing with Farabee and Frost is enough skill around him to show he can score in the NHL. I'd like to see the line get a bit of time to see if it can gel. I'd have personally preferred Allison (or Cates) as the other member of the line for their forechecking prowess but that's fine. |

SO once again they choose rehab over surgery. See you in 2023 Cam....maybe.
On a positive note, lets see what Frost can do with Bellows and Farabee on the "3rd" line. |

Seems reasonable. Dunno why it’s taken so long for the Flyers to implement this type of line combo for Frost. He did look better last year with Tippett and Cates. Wouldn’t it be fun if both Frost and Bellows benefitted from having Bee with them? The BFF Line! |

Any more word on what happened to Allison? It looked like a hip/upper leg injury. The guy can't catch a break. |

The Flyers current forward lineup is possibly the worst in franchise history. At least half are 4th line players or guys who belong in the AHL. And I’m glad they are getting that kid Seeler ice time over that washed up old fart Zamula.
So, no 2nd round picks til God knows when, no cap space and one of the worst rosters in the NHL. And still, Cuckles Fletcher remains in charge.
This once proud franchise is a complete joke. Either clean house or sell the damn team, Comcast. Or, at the very least, just pretend you give a damn. Mr. Meltzer, I believe you are employed by the team. Please explain to us why we should have even a shred of confidence that the current management group can turn this thing around.

Add to that the only tradable players are the ones you would like to keep. TK, Provorov, Hart and probably TD would get good returns. Braun would get a pick and JVR might also. They are stuck with this roster for the next 3 years basically.
I just don't get how anyone in charge of this team can look at it and not make drastic moves. I did not like the Suter and Parise buyouts by Guerin at the time. Now I applaud them. Guerin picked a direction and went with it. The franchise is much better off because of his decision. Fletcher is incapable of turning this team around. It is sad.

agree and agree with you prefer, I want Bellows to have a chance like Frost but his foot speed is a real issues SO FAR. Farabee is a still in a funk, probably from surgery, Cates would be great, even Wilman due to speed over Bellows. You would have 1st line, Cates/Frost/Farabee and Laughton to anchor another line.

Bellows is borderline AHL. Even Bill was lukewarm to that weird Chuck pickup. |

This coach is stubborn as can be still using Cates as a center.
How can one not laugh when you look at that lineup. All the draft picks made by the current and prior GM and this is what you end up with?
Special teams still a big issue.
All about next year people say yet Zamula still on the bench.

Bill why did they put Allison on IR but not Atkinson? - corduroy
Good question. Haven't gotten a good answer. Atkinson could be put on regular IR, backdated to opening night and (theoretically) activated as soon as cleared to play. |

I understand the thought process but Seeler has been pretty serviceable out there. He’s been a bright spot on D if you want to call it that |

Unlike many I do not want to give 8 year ext to TK and Ivan when those contracts are up in a few years. Doesn't make much sense to do so imo. Should have moved Sanheim as well. Just a rudderless Franchise

So is the goal mediocrity which pretty much describes Seeler, or is it building for the future? It sure seems like perpetual mediocrity to me. |

Seeler is not an issue at all. He has given you what you expect. In fact I ill say he has exceeded expectations.
The issue is playing him as what future does he have? Maybe he can be a your 3rd pair guy for a few more years, IDK.
The point is Zamula should be playing. Sit Braun, sit Risto, sit Seeler, rotate them in the lineup.
