Given how well the 4 kids have played (even knowing there will be bumps in the road and lots more to learn), once Matheson is really good to go (they may wait a few games to see him play), I would not be surprised if Edmundson is moved so the kids can keep playing and developing.

The reality, for the most part, the team defence has been really strong this season.

Still would rather see the 4 kids up playing regular minutes, rather than 1 in Laval. If you keep Wideman's cheap contract, then there is a guy to sub in if someone hits a rough patch that is somewhat dependable.

Sure, but I doubt you could minimize that now impact anyways, given the minutes the kids are playing.
