Torts pregame media discussion....
basically in a nutshell...Cates is going to be a center not matter what. Cited weak organizational depth at the position and come hell or high water, he's a center. - juiced
Fine, but he ain't a 2nd line center regardless of who is hurt.
Whatever Torts.

His schtick is well past it’s expiration date. Cates is the new Vandevelde, no changing the coaches mind. |

Except that Cates is actually a good player when used correctly.
Torts is going to destroy him.

Any update on Phil Myers for those that have seenhim play this season. Stat line says 9 GP out of 16. Little over 11 minutes per game |

My reply to Tortorella would be that Tanner Laczynski is a center but you refuse to play him. Instead, you're playing Sedlak.,

I think this points to where I have an issue with management. Management thinks this team is closer than it is....by a LOT, and hiring Torts is exactly the wrong kind of coach for what this team actually needs to do.
Every game Patrick Brown, Lucas Sedlak, Zac Attack, Nick Deslauriers, Nick Seeler, etc etc etc get on the ice is one more day this franchise gets set back.
I like Torts as a person, he seems like a real decent guy away from the rink. But at the rink he seems like a mind screwing head games playing dinosaur who isn't the right guy for a team who should be trying to see what it has in its prospects. Not trying to finish 10 points out of a playoff spot instead of 30. If anyone in this franchise thinks they even have a chance to sniff a playoff spot this season.....ESPECIALLY this season, they need to be dragged out of the corporate team offices and thrown off the Walt Whitman bridge. - MBFlyerfan

True, well faceoffs and Boston is really good at it but it will change nothing. |

It is. But it's not a secret that Frost got into Torts' doghouse -- which is rather easy to get into and can be hard to get out of. If Brown had been dressing as a C tonight rather than RW, Frost might have sat.

I don't think the Beanpot is going to be renamed any time soon... or ever. It's not controversial. |

The hiring committee was Fletcher, Flahr, Briere and Dean Lombardi. No one else was in either first or second interviews. A third-party agency was hired to come up with/ vet the candidate pool. - bmeltzer
Please. Too consistent with existing precedent to believe anything different happened. |

Laczynski, Brown and Sedlak in my mind shouldn’t be playing anywhere near outside of the fourth line center role. Instead Laczynski plays wing anywhere in the bottom six and I feel like Sedlak is getting a pat on the back every time he finishes a shift. I’ve never seen a guy drive the net so well and have zero finish. Who knows what’s going to happen with Patrick Brown. |

I thought he had a couple good games and now the reality has set in. He can’t finish at all, and he seems to get knocked over quite a bit. He’s a nothing player. |

Guys like Sedlak, Brown, Mac and Seeler make for a nice story….journey man finally makes good….but you sure as hell shouldn’t have more then one of them on your team. At the detriment of ice time and development of the kids and young guys….no wonder this team seems to struggle developing its home grown talent. |

Can Torts ever not be a snarky douche? - BiggE
I always dispised Torts because he always seemed to be whining about something and was very short with the media. I've given him some time to grow on me and he has a little. I appreciate his no non sense approach an keeping players accountable. Also like how he sticks up for players. But he's starting to go back to that whining little man like in NYR or Vancouver. Didn't notice him that much in CBJ. |

seems that way, I don't mind Sedlak, he actually brings some skating and jam, I get faceoffs but Jeez. On the other hand Bellows is a waiver pick up and has not shown much, a little better lately. |
