I think, it's beyond apathy. It's some where between indifference and active resentment. - missingmike
I think I'm at the apathy stage moving rapidly toward active resentment. When I watch players like Brown, McEwen, Deslauriers, and to a lesser extent Seeler skating around and getting ice time. I get pissed off. Brown hasn't played all season and comes off IR and is immediately inserted into the lineup. What for? Younger players that might have a future should be playing and live with the growing pains. work with them and keep them playing. Stop trying to (frank)ing win. It's not going to happen. Put talented players in a position to succeed and I get behind that regardless of wins and losses. The incompetence is enraging.

They do look good. However, it is game 20 of the season? Lots of season to go. - mickel25
The underlying numbers are super strong tho.
There's a good chance it isn't a fluke. |

Replace is too big an ask.
Who will be able to at least go up and down the ice?

Two excuses I am getting sick of are:
(1) injuries and,
(2) that they just do not have enough talent
First, injuries happen to everyone. Do we have more than average? Possibly, good organizations draft and develop young players so when prospects come in, maybe, they get you 70-80% of what was injured.
Second, there are several players making a crap ton of money. Based on salaries that CF has given out, lack of talent should not even be in the same conversation. The fact that there is, is an indictment of the Flyers process. And the fact that ownership cannot connect these dots is excruciating painful to the fans |

ESPN listed each team's MVP so far this season. Here's New Jersey's:
Nico Hischier is on a mission; the Devils' captain has developed into a two-way force. Hischier's work ethic combined with talent (17 points in 15 games) and leadership acumen make him a true triple threat. As New Jersey coach Lindy Ruff noted, this is the best version of Hischier so far, and he should be in the conversation for the Selke Trophy.
If only they had taken NoPa instead... Oh well. Hart was the pick for the Flyers MVP |

Coots Hiscier is a pretty good 1-2 punch. Not the sexiest top two names out there but two guys that play the game the right way. Would also avoid the Ellis disaster. What could have been |

Watching the game last night, I am definitely in the resentment stage. I watched and just was so mad at the fact that the Bruins were just light years ahead of the Flyers. Back in the day there were times that I always felt this team had a chance. Now, I go in expecting a loss.

I think fletcher still has some traction here. He can really play the injury excuse and also they’re trying to build something here laying a foundation angle. The owners should buy this. I fully expect him back for next year minimal this is what chuck does best |

True - but basically what I'm seeing is in line with my expectations, or at least not a surprise (such as not really playing the kids as much as was said at the beginning of the season - we all knew that's how it was going to be). So through that lens I'm watching the games because I like watching hockey and I love the Flyers.

I like watching hockey also and love the Flyers. To me it's not the losing. It's that they're losing while playing players that have no future. Is that what a bottom feeder should be doing? Think about that absurdity.

Has apathy set in for Flyerland? - MJL
There's still a faint pulse here, mostly just momentary feelings of embarassment. This season has proven to me that Flyers fandom is baked into my bones, not something chosen, and frankly it feels more like a curse.
Apathy is comforting when it feels like we still haven't hit rock bottom. |

Your post actually made me think. I think I'm being disingenuous by saying apathy has set in for me. If that was true, then why am I so pissed off by the epic incompetence shown by this franchise. If I was truly apathetic, I wouldn't care. Like you said. It's baked in. |

Guerin said earlier this year that the Wild need to play gritty, heavy and with physicality. He had that in Sturm but traded him for a lightweight Jost. Mind boggling.

10th OA but already a bust with the Avs. Thought it was a mistake at the time. Low risk low impact move but they add up.
