It’ll be interesting to see how he reacts to this. If Hayes has any pride you would think this would piss him off. I’m guessing Torts is just trying to get Hayes fired up and show some fight. Unfortunately I don’t think it’s going to work with Lazy Hazy.

I’ve only watched 2 minutes of Torts presser today and I disagreed with almost everything he said.

He has a real hard on for Cates at center. I’ve seen nothing incredible about Cates at center. As for not wanting to make Hayes a checker, maybe he should. He’s suppose to be our best center and he’s garbage away from the puck.

If they get him, I sure hope he knows how to play Flyer hockey. Otherwise, he'll have to play on the 4th line and learn to play away from the puck. Make some hits and mix it up. Flip some pucks up and out the zone and chip it off the glass. Only then when becoming proficient at that can he play in offensive situations and on the PP. Trust the process and not worry about points.

Flyers as an organization were slow to adapt to the salary cap. Ed Snider's answer to everything had been to spend more to build a team. I think Pronger's career ending injury and our inability to replace him caused a shift in his thinking. When Hexy came in, he got Ed to agree to exercise patience and grow from within. Hexy had us on a good track, albeit slow. I don't think he had a good sense of Ufa and rfa pool. Fletch's decision to add Ellis as our top rhd has been thwarted due to injury. Fletch hasn't recovered. His moves have been reactionary as opposed to a vision for the future. Injuries this season are just ridiculous. I don't see how you can blame a gm for the Injuries. We came into season as a bottom third team. We are right where we are supposed to be.

Not in support of Fletch or any previous gm. Just think this train wreck of a season is due to not having a vision of the future. Injuries may have prevented a proactive approach but we are where we are. We weren't challenging for Lord Stanley this season.
